It it okay to not like your sub outside of roleplaying?

I’m in a situationship dynamic with a guy who’s a sub [35F], [27M]. The main reason it classifies as a situationship is because we find each other attractive, I’m a domme and he’s a full on sub. I enjoy that part of our thing a lot. We don’t do anything physical it’s mainly verbal, and we know each other in person, however we barely hang out due to me not finding anything we both can do.

However I’ve noticed recently that I don’t like him as a friend anymore outside of our dynamic/roleplaying. He’s very self absorbed, lacks empathy and is quick to make generalizations about me, I’ve also often heard him say judgemental things about his friends and how they lead their lives or who they are as people.

The only time he’s curious about me and my life, my hobbies, my interests is when he’s in sub mode and I’m sweet talking him. He loves nerding out and I love that too but he never lets me nerd out outside of roleplaying. I’m a huge nerd, but I don’t get any level of interaction that’s purely about ME outside of roleplaying.

I’m confused because I enjoy the dynamic we have but I’m afraid I don’t really like him as a person outside of that.

Any advice?

I’m new to discovering my domme side, and I see often that subs are given tasks to do or requests by the domme but what are some examples? I want to give my sub a bunch of tasks to do! :3

Thanks!

Edit: This is an online only dynamic for now, I have met this person before but it’s almost as if we are long distance.
