B by 27Shaw: Read This Before You Visit

The 3^(rd) branch of 27Shaw finally opened last Friday, May 15, 2026. They chose Burgos, Poblacion in Makati as the location. Size-wise, it is smaller than the Timog branch but a little bigger than the Shaw branch. Lucky me, I am near the Burgos area so I get to visit nang hindi nahahassle sa byahe, naghihintay sa traffic (just like sa Main Branch), or nagbabayad ng toll (just like sa Timog Branch). If familiar kayo sa Hoesik, or Starbucks Kalayaan , or St. Giles Hotel malapit lang sya doon.

Price and Services Offered

Okay, let’s start with the elephant in the room which is ung price increase ng 27Shaw. Personally, anticipated ko naman na un. Seabliss, Nexus etc has increased their prices ng about 100 to 200 pesos rin.

Basic Amenities

May tatlong parking slots sa harap ng B by 27Shaw. I would expect medyo mahihirapan ang mga customers since maraming bading ang may sasakyan. Thankfully, may mga pay parking naman sa paligid and may street parking rin within Pobla. The reception area is smaller than T or Shaw branches. Ang B by 27Shaw kasi is more tall than wide. Four floors sya instead of the two floors ng Main and the three floors ng Timog. So for sure may compromise nang kaunti sa surface area ng front desk. Hopefully, malagyan nila ng bench ung recep area kasi for sure dagsa ang tao pag peak days and hours and gustong maupo ng mga bading.

Since new branch, bago ang mga robes and slippers. And infairness, makapit na ung sole ng slippers so di ka na madudulas. Locker area is substantial for its size. I don’t think so.

Wet Area

A nice feature is pinagsama ung Steam room and Labyrinth so you get a large steam room with two entrance/exit doors on both ends. Probably the biggest steam room sa lahat ng nasa Pilipinas. Dito nangyayari ang "bakbakan" kumbaga. They have an intimate jacuzzi na smaller size but mas private compared sa other branches. They have around 6-7 shower stalls na may door na pwedeng i-lock so kung gumaganap kayo sa shower or naliligo ka magisa, wala nang makakasilip sayo.

Crowd is mixed. All sorts of shapes and sizes. But quality just like ung branding ng 27Shaw. I doubt they’ll have screening just like other spas.

Lounge Area and Bar

They overdid this time. Lounge is located sa 2^(nd) floor while ung bar which they call “BARe” ay nasa 4^(th) floor. And yes, they serve alcoholic drinks. Of course, nasa heart of Poblacion ka, you must serve drinks! The drinks are priced 160 to 380 pesos. Masarap naman ung drinks at masarap ung bartender eme. Their Amaretto sour is good! Be sure to bring your phone or cards lang sa bar kasi pay as you order ang kalakaran.

May outdoor area rin na same floor as bar. Then, may mga lounge seats rin doon, so pwedeng-puwede mag-landian ang mga bading surrounded by the Makati skylights.

Massage and Scrub Rooms

The massage rooms are located sa 3^(rd) floor. I would say more than 30 massage rooms siguro un.

On the other hand, ung scrub rooms naman are located sa 2^(nd) floor. May door sa gilid ng lounge, which is the entrance sa scrub area. Dare I say, best scrub room interior so far. Clean, intimate, spacious. And mas malawak ung scrub bed. If you haven’t tried Innocent yet, maybe its time to try it sa Burgos branch.

Therapists Available

Currently, wala pang mga new thera na nasa Burgos. Their current lineup comes from therapists ng dalawang older branches. To name a few, nandun si Jazz, Kurt, Ace, James, Jercy, Brix, Cristoff, Teo, Erick etc. Solid lineup naman I must say. Sila rin mga nirerecommend ko. They really want to shake things up a bit in Makati. Meron talagang gustong patunayan at kahit OG nang other branch like Jazz, nilagay sa Burgos to serve customers. Quality service with no extra service naman talaga ang branding ng 27Shaw and for sure they’d like to keep it that way.

Areas for Improvement

Konti lang naman comments ko but nice to have:

  1. Lagyan sana ng floor guide sa may recep area para di maligaw ung customers kung saan pupunta if massage room ba or scrub rooms or Bar area.
  2. Lagyan ng kaunti pang lights ung steam room I guess. Makakakita ka naman but it will take some getting used to

Final Thoughts

B by 27Shaw isn’t just entering the Makati All Men’s Spa scene. It is actively redefining it. From the moment you step inside, there is a quiet certainty that this brand operates on a higher level, setting standards rather than following them. If they sustain the same level of excellence that defines their other branches, Makati will not remain a competitive ground for long. It’s only a matter of time before B by 27Shaw claims the crown.

The Subtle Art of Tipping Your Therapists

Hello mga ka All Men’s Spa! (LOL). Today, let’s talk about the tipping or “pagti-tip” culture sa loob ng mga gay spa dito sa Pilipinas. While this also applies to normal spas and massage places, I will talk about tipping based sa personal experiences ko sa loob ng All Men’s Spas. Hindi ES ang itotopic natin but tip for a standard therapist service.

Let’s start with the definition of tipping or tips. Tip is a voluntary form of appreciation we give to our therapist for their services. So two key points dito ay VOLUNTARY and THERAPIST.

What are the types of Tips?

  2. In-Kind Tip: not usual. Example: Grocery, sapatos, gift cards etc.
  3. Pre-service tip: ito ung tip na binibigay before pa man mag start ung service. Usually nangyayari to pag regular therapist mo na ung kinuha mo and may rapport na kayo.
  4. Post-service tip: tip na binibigay after matapos ung masahe or service. Mas maganda to kasi mas may idea ka magkano ibibigay mo sa thera depending sa level of excellence ng service nila.

How to give your tip?

Paiba-iba sya per spa but I’ll try to list down ung mga kabisado ko:

What is the correct amount of tip to give to your therapist?

Ito na ang burning question. But the truth is subjective talaga. Depende sa capacity mo to give and sa satisfaction na nakuha mo from the service. Dapat lagi kang hindi sure or “titignan mo pa”. Huwag mo paasahin ung therapist. Para rin hindi ka mapressure. Personally, here’s my matrix:

100 PHP: pag unsatisfactory, hindi marunong, magulo ung routine, undertime ung therapist. Its important for me na magtip kahit di ako natuwa. Just my personal choice.
200-300 PHP: for first time thera na natry ko and goods naman ang service. Bale pinaka base tip ko ang 200.
500 PHP: sa mga regular therapist ko. Its important to find your go-to thera sa mga spa para alam mong you are in good hands.
700-1000 PHP - for exceptional performances.

Its okay if you do it. Its okay if you dont.

Hopefully, nakatulong ito! Plug ko lang again na may small forum kami for spa discussions in TG. BM lang if you wanna join!

27Shaw’s 3rd Branch: Can It Break Into the Makati Scene?

The news is out. 27Shaw is opening its third branch, and all signs point to Makati or Poblacion. That alone is enough to get people talking. The all men’s spa scene in Makati is already active and competitive, but this move could shift the balance.

The big question is simple. Can 27Shaw truly break into the Makati market? Kaya kaya nilang mamayagpag the same thing they did in Timog?

Right now, three names dominate the space: R Wellness Hub, Urus Wellness Hub, and Infinity Spa Makati. Each one has built a loyal following. Each one offers a solid experience. But none of them are without flaws. That is exactly where 27Shaw can step in. Here are the points na sa tingin ko need ng 27Shaw para tanghaling hari ng Makati:

  1. Consistency - Makati clients are particular. Mga working class ito more than students. They go to spas not just for the crowd but to relax. They want a good massage every time, not just on a lucky visit. While the existing spas can deliver quality service, it is not always consistent across therapists. I believe this is where 27Shaw has a real advantage. Their brand is built on delivering a reliable experience. If they bring that same standard to Makati, they will immediately stand out.

  2. The issue of screening - R Wellness has long been rumored to screen customers. Whether true or not, the perception alone can turn people away. 27Shaw operates differently. Their crowd is diverse and welcoming. There is no sense of exclusion. That kind of environment is refreshing, especially in a city where image can sometimes dominate the experience. And totoo naman talaga, quality pa rin ang crowd ng 27Shaw with or without the screening.

  3. Parking - It sounds simple, but it matters. Makati is not easy when it comes to parking. Papatayin ang oras mo kakahapan ng street parking sa Pobla on a weekend. If 27Shaw secures a location with dedicated parking, like their main and T branches, that becomes a clear advantage. Convenience often decides where people go, especially for repeat visits. Ang dami pa namang bading na may sasakyan.

  4. The low key atmosphere - 27Shaw is known for keeping things simple. No regular events, no unnecessary noise. Just a straightforward spa experience. Many clients actually prefer this. Not everyone wants a party. Some just want to relax without distractions.

  5. No bulong or extra service policy - This is a major point. In many Makati spas, extra service offers have become normalized. For some, that is part of the appeal. For others, it takes away from the professionalism of the experience. 27Shaw draws a clear line. This protects both the client and the therapist. It keeps the focus on the massage itself, which is what a spa should be about. Bihirang-bihira ka makakarinig ng ES sa 27Shaw. Kung meron man, client-driven un for sure.

Breaking into Makati will not be easy. The competition is established and the market is selective. But 27Shaw is not starting from zero. They already have a strong reputation and a loyal following. If they stay true to what made them successful like consistency, inclusivity, and professionalism, they have a real shot. They may not dominate overnight, but they can absolutely carve out a strong position.

Makati is ready for something new. The question now is whether 27Shaw can deliver at the level the city demands. Only time will tell.

Read This Before Going to R Wellness Hub: A Review

With news of a major new spa entering the Makati scene, now is the right time to talk about the current standout in the Makati all men’s spa space: R Wellness Spa Hub in Don Pedro, Makati, better known as Poblacion, has held that title for a while.

I visited R Wellness several times to see if the experience stayed consistent and to test the long standing claim that they screen customers. The goal was simple. See if the reputation holds up across visits and give readers real, useful insight.

I would say though, hindi ko na-experience mareject or hindi papasukin in my 3-4 times visit. These are visits both ng weekdays and weekends.

Pro tip is reserve a slot through their hotline. I am unsure, but mostly I go earlier than 7 PM to beat the traffic and find a nice parking spot if may dala akong sasakyan. During this time, paparami pa lang mga tao.

The location is easy to find. Just pin Jumong Restaurant and you will see the spa right beside it. One important note, though. The parking directly in front is for Jumong customers only. R Wellness parking is in the building to the left, which can save you time and frustration.

You’ll be greeted by receptionists na hindi naman maldita or mapangmata as said by some na nabasa ko dito sa reddit. They’re actually friendlier than some spa front desk ladies I know. I usually avail their R Explorer massage, which is priced at 1499. Don’t be confused, though, sa Explorer ng 27Shaw. Ung Explorer ng R Wellness is a signature massage ng therapist, so sila bahala kung anong routine gagawin nila.

I highly recommend Jorven, Ben, and Jacob if wala ka idea sino kukunin. Top-notch routines and hindi undertime. Hindi rin kulang sa sensual.

They have a small bar area wherein may DJ pag may events. Events dont seem forced sa R Wellness. Marami talagang parokyano ung spa.

The wet area is one of the spa’s strong points. It is spacious and well-equipped. There is a large steam room, a large sauna, and two onsen pools. The temperatures may not suit everyone, as the hot and cold pools are more moderate than expected. There are several shower stalls, including open-style areas designed for group use, with windows that are visible from outside the wet area, sa mga mahilig sa live show.

Their best-selling point? THE CROWD. Hands down. Dito ka makakakita na 90% of the crowd talagang either face card or body card or both. The place is full of gym-fit guys. I have been invited sa meditation room a couple of times by an ambassador. It’s a nice experience, but I wouldn’t say it adds anything sa visit mo. The wet area is enough for most.

We can argue that T or 27Shaw has the best crowd, but that is debatable. R Wellness Hub, so far, has the most discreet, fit, good-looking crowd I have ever seen. Siguro sa diversity, yes. 27Shaw ang may edge.

After multiple visits, the experience remained consistent. The facilities are solid, the massages are reliable, and the overall atmosphere draws a lively crowd. I think ang issue ko lang is medyo madilim talaga sa locker area. I expect na kahit papaano medyo malinawag doon.

Bottom line, R Wellness Hub continues to earn its reputation. I would still go back, both for the quality of the massage and the people you are likely to meet there.

Also, we have a closed TG group for spa discussions and recommendations, if you like to join, DM me lang.
