The Truth about LOSERS QUEUE : How to counter it and climb faster

You may feel like you do not below in your elo and that 50% of your games are unplayable: no matter how hard you try, your team holds you back when you start winning.

I am a passionate player since season 2 and I have seen matchmaking become a total hell, if you don't know how it works.

Reading Riot's patents show that the matchmaking isn't purely MMR based : other data such as player behavior, session patterns, average performance is used to create a pool of lobbies just for you.

Based on this, losers queue CAN be real even though Riot says otherwise. It's a common meme among players who play a lot each season (like me).

How to avoid being in Losers Queue (from my own experience)

  • Avoid honor restrictions : do not flame in chat, spam pings, go afk, be toxic in game in general. BE LESS REPORTABLE AS POSSIBLE. Riot logs your number of reports and places you into toxic lobby pools to match you with toxic players.
  • Actually STOMP your elo : Make sure you get S or S+ EVERY game. Riot looks at your in-game perfomance in relation to your elo/team, and this even more than the issue of the game. It is BETTER to lose as MVP than win while getting carried. PLAY FOR YOURSELF RATHER THAN FOR THE WIN. Your player data will give you better teammates if you perform better than your elo and vice versa.
  • Stop playing when you lose. This is stupid but it works. You can use 2 accounts if you want to keep playing. You want to wait for the algorithm to reset your pool lobby and give you winnable games once again. REMEMBER WE ARE DEALING WITH AN ENGAGEMENT-BASED MATCHMAKING (EOMM). Tencent (Riot) wants to keep you playing. How ? They give you unwinnable games to make you SPEND MORE TIME IN THE GAME. Just stop and they are fucked. I stop after 2 losses in a row or even 1 if I feel like I am in losers queue.

Let me know your experience or share your opgg if you believe you are in losers queue !
