About that ending scene...

I have some theories about the EP12 ending scene. I know there are two popular theories right now, one is that Quinn is hallucinating. The other one is that it's a flashfoward scene.

I don’t think Quinn is hallucinating, I think it is an actual canon scene of a future event that will happen on all branches.

The scene was already shown back in EP2 where we presumed it was Tommy who was tossing the coin as it showed him holding his arm after as if he injected whatever Quinn just offered. Now we know he probably just took a shot for his diabetes and I guess the plot twist is that it was never Tommy with Quinn in that scene, so we technically saw a flashforward all the way back in EP2.

For the scene itself, I think it is actually a few weeks into the spring semester, maybe around 2-3 weeks after EP12. I think the scene is in the mansion where the DIKs are taking in new pledges (Marc and Chen) for initiation and they have to do the cumpetition with the HOTs, like what MC and Derek had to do in EP2, which explains why Quinn is wearing that outfit and why she’s in the mansion in the first place. It could also explain why MC has Tommy’s coin (Tommy likes him now after MC helped him). I think why he looks so scruffy and depressed is because some shit happens during the weeks prior to this scene.

As to what happens during those weeks, it’s anyone’s guess. The popular theories I’ve seen are:

  • Revelations in the diary about MC’s grandfather.
  • Neil has lied about something bad.
  • Something to do with Vinny reporting the Pink Rose.
  • Maybe something bad happened to Tommy and MC has to take on his responsibilities (another explanation for having his coin and why MC is collaborating with Quinn)

I like the theory that Derek discovers he has his mother’s illness after all those scans he did in the hospital. I saw a comment somewhere about Derek, that he is the way he is because he already suspected he has the illness so he just wants to live life to the fullest and take care of his loved ones before he succumbs to it.

Maybe it’s a combination of all these things, not just one of them, which is the culmination that brings MC to such a low point.

I think Quinn will just offer MC heroin (I’m assuming it’s heroin) that you can accept/decline, it won’t mean MC will become some addict or whatever. Quinn is also trying to sell the drugs she stole from Buddy as fast as possible (as seen in EP12 when she pushes Mel and Sarah to sell harder drugs e.g. heroin), maybe at this point she has sold most of them and is just using the remaining supply for herself hence why she offers some to MC instead of trying to sell it to him.

I think the purpose of the scene is to show MC is at a low point, not MC joins Quinn to become some drug addict.

At the start Quinn asks “Have you made up your mind?” (it will be a choice)

Then she says “I can see it in your eyes…You need this. We all do.” (She can tell MC is at a low point)

“Don’t think of this as an easy escape. Think of it as liberation. With just a single prick… all of our troubles go Poof!” (Offers drug to drown his troubles)

If DPC is ticking off every stereotypical drug, it’s not surprising that there will be an option for some injected drug scene in the game, if anything it should be expected at this point. We’ve had scenes where MC has the option to get high on weed, trip on shrooms, seems like an option to nod out from heroin is likely.

Another thing to consider is Quinn could be the president of the HOTs at this point. Sage mentions in EP12 that the upcoming spring semester is her last one in B&R and she needs to start looking for work or more education. Maybe Sage promotes Quinn as the new president as she’s now too busy to take on presidential responsibilities. But I don’t know if Quinn is also a final year student so could be wrong.

This could all be a reach but what are your thoughts?

Here we go - is it really happening?

It looks like we’re officially getting a Bianca variation in the Others ‘chosen road’ and it may not be entirely a trap as many people thought, or is it?

FYI: A bit of a lengthy read.

At first, I also thought the Bianca path would be a trap that would lead to MC ending his relationship with Bella/Jill, which of course does happen, but I thought the actual trap part would be that Bianca ultimately rejects MC along with the breakup so you’ll get an ending where MC is alone and all the MGs hate him. After EP12, does the possibility of ending the game where MC and Bianca are together look more likely?

Right now, I can see two possible roads that the Bianca path leads to; one that mirrors Rusty’s situation with Micha and the other mirrors Matthew and Liv. Basically, one bad ending where Bianca regrets it and rejects MC and one good ending where MC and Bianca are happy together but they have to try to make amends with the relationships they damaged. Maybe DPC will make the Bianca path end badly no matter what, just to make the point of “How could you possibly think this could end well?” basically, a trap after all. I hope he doesn’t…

In EP12, Bianca was about to tell MC that they can be more than a one-night stand but she stops herself and says she needs to think about it some more. As ironic as it sounds I think she was being rational and by not giving a clear answer right then, it actually makes it more likely that she will date MC. It confirms that Bianca isn’t just being impulsive with MC, she always asks MC for reassurance, e.g. to start her path in EP11 she talks to MC about how they shouldn’t be flirting and she backs off unless MC assures her he wants to continue flirting. Even in EP12 (even though it’s too late to back out now) she asks MC if he's sure he wants to continue.

It ties into what Bianca tells MC at the NYE party, that he made her feel desired which she says she hasn’t felt in quite some time. This makes sense because we know that Matthew is cheating on her so he obviously doesn’t make her feel that way. I think it’s actually a revelation from Bianca that she is/was in an unhappy relationship with Matthew regardless of if she knows that Matthew is cheating. Again, it makes sense because Matthew is never around her, since he’s sneaking off with Liv. Bianca admits it sounds shallow but she also says she felt desire too. I think this means that she didn’t just enjoy the fact that MC wants her - she genuinely wants MC too, for more than just the physical intimacy.

Bianca not giving a clear answer to MC if you choose to end the NYE party with her initially made me think that her path won’t end well but after playing it again via solo Bella branch, I feel more optimistic that it will lead to them being together. Bianca explicitly says she didn’t think of their situation as a “one-time thing” so she clearly wants more with MC. Also, she is taking her time to consider the consequences of pursuing this relationship. There’s also future MC’s narration about Bianca after her lewd scene where he says he chose to focus on the feeling that it weirdly felt right to sleep with Bianca despite it feeling wrong because they flirted while he was still with Bella. Maybe this suggests they are already together in the future?

There’s a number of variations for Bianca’s path. I would say the most destructive one is the Jill breakup via deviant score and telling her about Matthew. Personally, I’m not a fan of playing the Bianca path through Jill’s branch. I also don’t think the Jill breakup via Jade tape is some bypass to make the Bianca path consequence-free since both Bianca and MC can be single by the time they hook up in that variation. Bianca and MC will always initiate the affair while at least one of them is in a relationship so it’s still cheating even if you do this variation. There’s no clean way to start her path.

Do you guys think we’ll get different outcomes depending on if you start Bianca’s path through Jill or Bella or will it be the same for both?

My guess is that there's a high chance it will be a bad ending if you do it through Jill’s branch as it’s the most destructive and has the most interactions. It’s also where Bianca is the most concerned when MC breaks up with Jill at the NYE party and Bianca also gives MC a tentative look when he asks her where it leaves them now that he broke up with Jill. It’s hard to tell what Bianca is feeling at the end of the NYE party.

TL;DR:

Bianca and MC clearly like each other, Bianca opened up the possibility of dating but wants to think about the consequences first. What will happen between them is left ambiguous. How do you think they will end up in season 4?

The Bianca Situation

There’s been quite the discourse about Bianca, mainly about whether she is just a setup for MC to ruin his relationship with Jill,Bella or if she legitimately has a path that will lead to a romantic relationship with MC. Personally, I think that the former is true if you exchanged numbers with her in EP11 as that will probably lead to a secret rendezvous with her in the upcoming season finale. However, I do want a legitimate path with Bianca as romantic LI without any cheating involved. I will share my thoughts on how it could be possible.

The Others Path and Main Storyline

It seems the only way for Bianca to be in a romantic relationship with MC is exclusively through the Others path. I don’t see it being possible in the other two available paths that involve Bianca: the cheating Jill/Bella paths which both look like they will end in heartbreak and probably also with the rest of the MGs hating you for betraying Jill/Bella. I can also see Bianca feeling too guilty after meeting up with MC and ends up leaving you after the damage they cause… so yeah I believe the cheating Jill/Bella paths are for if you want a bad ending.

This leaves only the Others path. On this path: MC can be single and have no cheating involved up to the point of meeting Bianca. As for Bianca’s side, she will be with Matthew whilst having an interest in MC and we all know that Matthew is already cheating on Bianca. I believe on this path, Bianca will discover on her own of Matthew’s affair and break up with him, therefore both MC and Bianca will be single and have no cheating involved from either of them.

From this point, I think there will be non-cheating/non-shallow opportunities for MC and Bianca to form a bond through the progression of the main storyline involving MC’s family backstory with Lynette and Miranda. It is very likely at this point that Miranda is related to Bianca (Bianca is seen wearing Miranda’s necklace in EP8). What I can see happening is when MC discovers his mother was best friends with Bianca’s mother, it will spark a connection between MC and Bianca, they will probably share stories about them and they will hit it off from there… Who knows? It doesn’t seem convoluted.

Similar Opportunities

If it sounds too unlikely, then I wanna compare it to other side characters that also have the opportunity to develop a romantic relationship with MC and ask why it wouldn’t be possible with Bianca if it is with them.

Cinderella - We are 12 episodes in and we pretty much know nothing about her and despite that, it is looking like she will have her own path so I don’t see why it wouldn’t be possible with Bianca when we know a lot more about her and the connection to MC’s family.

Tara/Sally - Other side characters that also have the same potential of a romantic path.

Zoey - Weaker comparison as said above I don’t think the exchanging of numbers with Bianca serves the same purpose as jumping ship from an MG to Zoey at the end of EP11 but still somewhat similar.

Paradigm Shift

The title of EP11. This could be a whole other thread and could be completely wrong but I wanna quickly share my final thoughts. I believe the actual ‘paradigm shift’ of EP11 is MC’s stance and actions towards relationships. In this episode MC can flirt, cheat with other characters despite having CHICK affinity and already being in a committed MG path, e.g. making out with Sally during the christmas party. I think if a Bianca path is possible, it could also be through this route of MC shifting his stance on how relationships work i.e. he doesn’t have to follow a traditional relationship with the MG he’s already chosen during EP8 Crossroads… maybe.

Ultimately, we don’t know what DPC will bring us.

We will find out in 2 days if Bianca even has a scene. Can’t wait.
