You're 20. You had just moved into your first apartment. It was cheap and small and old. But you were just happy you weren't living at home. You wanted to celebrate. You invited some friends and coworkers over.
But here you are on a Friday night, alone on your couch and feeling sorry for your self.
Some of them had good excuses. But most didn't even bother with one. Now you're staring at the drinks and snacks and pizza you bought. You feel like a loser.
Then there's a knock at the door.
If you had a million guesses who was knocking, none of them would have been her.
Chloe's your coworker. But she's a lot more than that.
She's your oldest crush. Your best friend's older sister. Except you and her brother had a bad falling out, so then she was your biggest enemy's older sister. She heard all of his side, so of course she hated you.
Not that you had a chance either way. She's five years older than you. She's out of your league hot. And she only dates girls. Even if you and her brother didn't hate each other, you'd still be out of luck.
She came back to your home town six months ago. She got a job at the same place as you. At first you were excited. But she's given you the cold shoulder ever since. Every time you try and be friendly, she shoots you down.
But here she is. Chloe. At your door. Seeing your apartment and seeing no one else is there. It's the most embarrassing moment of your life.
