I’ve recently started building a monster girl game - The Wilds of Thelos. For now, I’m focused on the character designs and finding the style that I want to use for it. This illustration is the first rendered test piece, showcasing one of the five goblin girl sisters that will be prominently featured in the game. Patreon info in bio.
I took some feedback to heart for my goblin girl designs not being monstrous enough. With that in mind, I put the focus on changing her eyes and landed here. This is still rough, not fully rendered, but it's close now. I'm hoping those changes will feel right on the other planned goblin girl characters. If so, I'll keep them. At the very least I think I'm keeping the slit pupils.
I’ve been catching a little bit of flack because some people have responded to my goblin girl designs as being “not monster enough.” Maybe that’s true. As I’ve been drawing and looking for the style, this is where I’ve landed.

When you imagine interacting with monster girls, who are you picturing yourself as being?
I’ve begun building a monster girl game and one of the challenges I’m facing his designing, the male player character. The game is going to have a lot of illustrations so I need to lock down a single design - as much fun as it would be to have character customization or selection, it’s not currently practical.
With that in mind, I am hoping for some community feedback. Do you picture yourself as you really are? Or a more heroic version like an RPG character? A younger self (à la Luka)? I’m planning to draft three illustration archetypes and get feedback on a Patreon poll, but starting here seemed best. Thanks!
