So far the two of us had done a good job when it came to keeping things a secret between the two of us. Ruling over the largest kingdom across all the lands certainly came with many different headaches. Queen Amelia had taken control of the city, using her kind disposition and maternal energy to quell any nervousness that the women and older population may have while their husbands and children were away at war. But still, the public appearances and kind words could only do so much when it came to making the kingdom appear as strong as ever. With each passing week the war blazed on the kingdom went without a king in it's direct presence, leading to growing apprehension and nervousness from the population which led to some of the royal advisors to call upon an old and nearly-forgotten tradition within the kingdom.

The eldest prince was old enough to stand in for the king. He would have the full attention of the advisors as well as the guidance of his mother who had stood beside the king for nearly two decades. Such an act would allow the true king to focus on the war and give the population of Ervios and the capitol city a man to lead them through such troubling times.

Hello! Above is a quick and rather hastily put together background for a roleplay I have been craving to do for a while. The general idea revolves around a prince and queen who are forced to act as the king and queen for a period of time which causes them to fall for one another as a true couple after hours spent confiding in one another and having such burdens thrown at them.

Naturally with them being mother and son they would be very close but just how close they truly are at the start is left up for discussion. I see the mother being very maternal and devoted to him/his siblings which leaves a lot of room for them to be very close. Maybe she's always been very loving towards him or maybe her marriage with the king was very transactional and done more so out of duty and not love, leaving room for her to fall for her son at the slightest form of affection once they are forced to spend time together as two adults and not as mother and son. From spending time together after meetings to having to share the same bedchambers and having to deal with his younger siblings or the chance of him possibly impregnating her and creating his own younger siblings.

Where it goes from there can equally be taken in many different ways. Will their relationship be kept a secret or will they be found out? Will the true king ever return, or maybe their kingdom is indeed defeated and the both of them are forced to run away together? I love the idea of them sharing a rather close bond and maybe him quickly taking the role of the man of the house after his father leaves.
