18F my first experience with age gap
My first age-gap relationship involved a 26-year difference. He had just come out of a divorce and was still deeply wounded by the end of his marriage, while I was young and quite inexperienced. Looking back, I entered that situation with almost no real-world wisdom and even less emotional protection.
In the beginning, his focus on me was thrilling. He had a natural charm and the self-assured manner of someone who had simply lived longer than I had. He made me feel chosen, wanted, and older than I actually was. The truth, though, is that I was largely just a rebound.
