Elizabeth was alone again. Or so she tried to convince herself. She was as alone as she could be.
Witness protection had done a number on her. New name. New city. New hair. A new nose too, since that was broken. She was supposed to be a completely different person. It wasn’t nearly as difficult as she imagined it’d be, not once her auburn hair was dyed blonde and her nose no longer resembled her father’s.
“Charlotte Brenner, nice to meet you,” she’d spoken it into the mirror of an apartment that wasn’t hers until it felt natural, until it felt like something she’d been saying her entire life.
A couple of marshals were to stay posted outside of her apartment for the first week, but after that she’d have to call if something was off. That wasn’t enough for Lizzy’s mother, who threw a fit once she’d caught wind of it. For someone who had hardly batted an eye in her direction for the duration of her childhood, Lizzy thought that was a dramatic reaction.
No matter, it ended with Liz’s mother hiring a glorified third-party body guard, despite the protests that came from the program. He was older than her, but not by much. Ex-army. Good guy, it seemed, but not good enough to make it past the background check for any government issued job after he left the military. That was all the marshals knew, or at least all they told her. It didn’t matter, anyway. All he was supposed to do was watch.
In fact, the instructions he’d been given left little to question: Watch. Protect. Don’t get involved.
The first two requirements wouldn’t be difficult. He could do those things, he had, and he’d done them well. The last sentence was what had given him pause, and what he’d thrown out the window the moment he’d seen her for the first time.

Hi everyone! I’m looking to get back into role playing after a bit of a hiatus. In all honesty, I’m still very busy, so if you’re the kind of person that prefers fast-paced replies we probably won’t be a great match. Realistically, if you can get back to me a few times a week, I’m happy. My own reply times vary, but I try to answer within a few days. Quality over quantity, always. I’d much rather wait a few days or hours and receive a thoughtful response!
I am looking to get into some romantic and NSFW elements, and as I’m 18+, all characters and participants must also be 18+.
As far as writing style, I write in third person only and average 3-10 substantial paragraphs per response, just depending on what my partner gives me. The sample above is just to give you an idea of the story - my responses are usually much more robust. I would very much prefer someone who is adv. lit/novella, since that most closely aligns with my style. I’ll never turn down a writing sample if you have one to share. It is, unfortunately, a dealbreaker for me if your writing isn’t similar to mine! No hard feelings, I just prefer for things to be cohesive. I’m also not big on detailed character descriptions before we start writing - to me, that ruins the fun of getting to know your character! I don’t mind OOC conversations about our characters, plot, etc., but I tend to be relatively quiet otherwise.
Now that the housekeeping is squared away (if you’re still here, I’m impressed), let’s chat about the fun stuff. Right now, I’m most interested in a dark romance that’s pretty much BookTok adjacent. A game of cat and mouse, if you will, with a passionate, protective, (and obsessive) male counterpart. While I do have this idea in mind, I always like to chat with my partner so that we can collaborate and create something we’ll both enjoy!
