That one ride on NH 66… 🚕
Okay, this was probably one of the most unexpected experiences I've had recently.
I connected with a couple here. We started chatting, got comfortable, and eventually talked about meeting up. They were looking for a guy to join them, so we planned something at my place.
But timing was a pain. They’re both working, she had her own schedule, and getting to my place and back home within a few hours wasn't easy. We postponed it a couple of times.
Then one evening he called me and said, “Can you come pick her up from work?”
I went.
She got in, they settled into the back seat, and I started driving.
And honestly… there was something incredibly exciting about knowing what was happening behind me while I was sitting there pretending to be completely normal and just driving along NH 66. 😂
It felt like one of those Fake Taxi fantasies, except this time I was actually behind the wheel.
At the same time, I couldn't completely switch my brain off. My car isn't heavily tinted, it was getting dark, and I kept wondering whether someone at a signal or another vehicle might notice something.
Still, that hour-long drive was definitely memorable. There was this weird combination of excitement, nervousness and the feeling that we were getting away with something we probably shouldn't be doing in public.
Eventually I dropped her back home, dropped him off, and drove back thinking…
“Okay… would people actually be interested in something like this?” 😅
So now I'm genuinely curious.
