Extra! Licensing Fees updated! The price cap is dead, completely dead! Only New models have limit: Free 3, Bronze 10, Silver 25, Gold unlimited per month. Changing a fee is free and stays.

  • A limit on how many new models you can monetize each month replaces the price cap. Each calendar month you can put a price on a set number of new model versions: Free 3, Bronze 10, Silver 25, Gold unlimited.
  • The price cap is gone. What you can charge no longer depends on your membership tier. Everyone gets the top rates.
  • Once a price is set, it stays. The limit is about setting prices on new models, not a limit on how many things you can have monetized.
  • Changing a price you already set is free, any time, and costs you nothing from the monthly Monetization Activation limit.
  • This is live now. If you had a price stored above the old cap, it is charging that price as of today.

Extra! Download all trained epochs in one archive. Removed stuff via TOS violations now show the reason with notification! Reaction milestone notifications now include the image! +Huge collab update!+

You can read the mostly-on-time, mostly-on-Fridays weekly update in the exotically named "Updates" section: (link) (linkRED)

🚀 New Features: The Creator Collab Update

Four ways to get your work in front of other people's audiences, all live this week.

  • Sticker Placement. Put a sticker on someone else's image. The creator decides whether their images accept placements and what a slot costs, and they're paid when they accept yours. Creators can also open free slots, so a placement doesn't always cost Buzz. Placed stickers now show on post pages and article covers as well as image detail, you can buy a sticker straight from the placement tray instead of leaving for the shop, and there's a tab for placements you've sent rather than only the ones you've received. Stickers in comments show who made them and link to their shop.
  • Remix Galleries. Pay to feature your remix on someone else's image, with that image's owner approving what appears. The same idea as sticker placement, applied to whole images.
  • Cosmetic Packs. Sell a set of cosmetics as a single shop item instead of listing each piece separately. Buying a pack grants every item in it.
  • Collab Collections. Build a collection with people you choose. Collaborator roles are editable from the roster now, rather than remove and re-invite, and submitting an entry no longer silently makes you follow the collection.

Memberships

  • Buy a membership with Buzz. A perks-only membership you pay for in Buzz rather than cash. It carries the membership perks, while the cash-only benefits like the Creator Program stay tied to a paid subscription.

Additional New Features

  • Save a post as a draft. The post editor autosaved, but the only way out was to leave the page, which warned you the post wasn't published and read like you were about to lose it. There's a Save as Draft button now that takes you to your drafts.
  • Sort your posts oldest first. For reaching the bottom of a large backlog to review, publish or clean up.
  • Likes and bookmarks have their own section. Your Liked Models and Bookmarked Articles collections now sit in a collapsible group at the top of the collections sidebar instead of mixed in with the ones you made.
  • Hide Blue Buzz from your header total. The header adds Blue and earned Buzz into one number. If you're watching what you've earned, you can now show only that.
  • Unpublishing your last published version takes the model down with it. A model with nothing published under it was a state nobody chose, but the model page, listings and search all had to render it.
  • Reviewers can say why. A collection submission can be rejected with a reason attached.
  • Training downloads come as one archive. Epoch models and sample media bundle into a single download instead of one file at a time.

Creator Studio

  • Views and impressions. New analytics across your content: image, model and article views, reactions, followers, posts published and profile views, with a comparison month. A Content tab ranks images, videos, articles, comics and 3D models by impressions, views or reactions, with drilldowns. Impressions start from August 17 and can't be backfilled, so the pages tell you where the data begins

✨ Quality of Life

  • Removal notifications say which rule. "Removed due to a Terms of Service violation" never told you which one, even though the moderator had picked a reason. That reason now reaches you.
  • See what buyers pay on your own model. Both price badges only rendered for viewers who had to pay, and an owner always has access, so creators couldn't check their own download or generation price without opening the edit form.
  • Green Buzz counts toward your earnings. The earnings figure filtered to Yellow only, so Green income was missing from what creators were shown they had made.
  • Uploads report every unresolved resource. A creator with four unresolvable LoRAs was told about one.
  • The header balance shows a decimal.
  • Early access refunds have a window. Unpublishing a model demanded a full refund to early access buyers however long ago they bought. Early access itself runs 30 days at most, so purchases past that window no longer block the unpublish, and the confirm dialog says how many buyers keep theirs.
  • The mobile browsing level control is hidden where it can't do anything. On domains that don't serve mature content the picker was inert, but the mobile menu still offered it, so you could tick R, X and XXX, watch the chips stay ticked, and get exactly the same page. Desktop already hid it.

Generation

  • Seedance 2.5. Now selectable in the generator, with clips up to 30 seconds. It runs at 720p.
  • LyCORIS and LoCon on Anima. Anima's resource picker only accepted Checkpoint, LoRA, DoRA and VAE, which put over a thousand published LoCon models out of reach in the generator. They work now.
  • Your attached images feed prompt enhancement. If your generation has reference or source images, the enhancer can read them as context. They show as thumbnails in the enhance form, checked by default, so leaving one out is a deliberate choice.
  • Longer video timeouts. Video generation and interpolation steps now get 40 minutes instead of 20, and a step can ask for more.

🔄 Changes

  • Rewards have shifted toward the collab surfaces. The follow reward and the generator feedback reward have been retired. There are two new ways to earn in their place: 10 Blue Buzz each time someone puts a sticker on your content, up to 10 a day, and 20 Blue Buzz for each remix submission you accept, up to 5 a day. Both scale with your membership tier.

🐛 Bug Fixes

  • Hidden generation data was still being served. An image with its metadata hidden had that metadata returned anyway on bounty pages and cover image lookups. The creator's choice is respected everywhere now.
  • "Run on Civitai" was being ignored. A creator could untick it and still get a working Create button, because generation coverage accepted any one of three permissions. On some base models our own model page published a licence line saying not to run it on Civitai, right beside a button that did. It now requires the permission it names.
  • Comic views were roughly half of reality. View tracking sat inside a component that waited for the whole comic to load, so anything under about six seconds never counted, and 47% of comic visits are shorter than that.
  • LoRAs with a short hash in their metadata didn't resolve on uploaded images.
  • Blocking gaps. Blocking is now enforced on legacy model comments and review edits, and notifications no longer cross a block.
  • The model file dropzone wouldn't open on iOS.
  • Image detail. A mouse drag couldn't leave the carousel, and the LoRA strength badge was pushed out of the panel.
  • A canceled generation reported itself as a failure.
  • MiniMax image to video now takes its size from the source frame, and an engine remix seeds the source image's aspect ratio.
  • Training datasets aren't called corrupt on the first try. Image loads retry before the file is rejected.
  • Search. A Meilisearch error was being reported as a search outage, the browsing level filter could be replaced by an autocomplete token or emitted empty, and the moderator benign phrase list now applies to search as well.
  • Filters that switched themselves on. A link carrying earlyAccess=false turned the filter on rather than off.
  • The collections add-content picker offered unpublished images.
  • Hidden and draft articles now return a proper 404 instead of a page search engines would index.
  • The Tipalti payments card shows for creators who have an account.
  • The home page showed the same image more than once. Featured Images, New and Upcoming, and Featured Collections draw from overlapping pools, so a picture could appear two or three times on one screen. Each block now skips anything already shown above it.
  • System tips were counted toward banking cap peak earnings.

🧪 In Testing

Available to a limited group while we finish testing. If you can't see these yet, that's expected.

  • Hubs. Image feeds you compose yourself at /hubs, built from creators, model versions and collections you pick.
  • Scheduled model sales. Set a sale on your models to start and end on a schedule.
  • Creator announcements. Post an announcement of your own, on your profile.
  • The DM redesign. A rebuilt chat with themes, layout options, message editing, and emoji and sticker completion.
  • Meshy v7 on PolyGen. Image to 3D and multi image to 3D on the new version.

Extra! Hide prompt now works! Red/Com profiles separated (cover, bio, announcement)! +Qwen-3 (txt2Img, ImgEdit). Daily Challenges get better pairwise ladder scoring +DetectedResource! +C.ShopResell

Before the details: The Civitai team would like to thank user Moonbear for their contribution to the Daily Challenges improvements. 💙🐻

🚀 New Features

A separate profile for civitai.com

Creators can now set a different cover image, announcement and bio for civitai.com. Leave any of them blank and that one inherits your default, so you only override the pieces you want to change.

Challenge judging got a new engine

Challenges can now be judged by a pairwise ladder instead of absolute scores. Absolute scoring runs out of room on a large challenge, where dozens of entries land on the same value and ties come down to a coin flip. Comparing entries against each other doesn't have that ceiling. Existing challenges keep running exactly as they did.

Resale terms are locked in per listing

If you're reselling another creator's item in your shop, the terms you listed under are now stored with your listing. The original creator lowering their share or withdrawing resale can't change what you're paid or pull the item out of your shop. If they withdraw the item itself you'll get a notification, and bringing it back sends it through review again.

MiniMax H3

MiniMax H3 is available in the generator, with a turbo toggle. It ships with the MiniMax H3 Community License registered, so the licence terms show up where you'd expect them.

Qwen 3

Alibaba's Qwen 3 image model is now in the generator, for both text to image and image editing, and it works with the Enhance prompt switch. It runs as its own ecosystem rather than joining Qwen or Qwen 2, so LoRAs and other resources built for those don't carry across.

✨ Quality of Life

  • Copy a link straight to a comment. Comment menus now have copy-link and copy-comment-id actions.
  • Report a sticker from the sticker itself. No more hunting for where the report action lives.
  • The Creator Shop submission fee now says it's non-refundable on the submission screen, rather than leaving you to find out.
  • The resource picker opens straight away. It used to sit for about five seconds on its default tab before showing you anything.

🐛 Bug Fixes

  • Hiding or showing a prompt wiped the image's generation data. The HIDE PROMPT button on the post editor sent nothing but the toggle, and that write cleared the stored metadata. It went both ways, so revealing a prompt destroyed it just as hiding it did. Fixed, and the metadata editor and comics drawer were never affected.
  • Pinned posts showed images from other versions. A pinned post landed in a version's gallery whole, including images made with a different version. Across the 6,000 newest pins, roughly 9% of pinned images were showing on a version that never made them.
  • The featured collections grid on the homepage rendered 8 of 14.
  • Changing your leaderboard showcase didn't take, and could erase your badge.
  • Creators are paid in the currency the buyer actually spent. This covers tips, donations and paid access.
  • Winning a Community challenge triggered the Daily winner cooldown, which it shouldn't.
  • Challenge entries now require a detected resource, so an entry can't slip in without one.
  • Bounties awarded by the nightly job now record when they were awarded.
  • Link previews stopped working. The image behind /api/og was returning a server error, so shared links rendered without their preview card.
  • Collection collaborator invites now respect blocks in both directions.

🧪 In Testing

If you can't see these yet, that's expected. They're switched on for testers and moderators while we work through them.

  • Sticker placement. Placing a paid sticker on someone else's image, now including feed cards rather than only the image detail view.
  • App Listings. The app store catalogue, open to moderators and app developers.
  • Grok Imagine Image 2.0, behind a flag while we test it.
  • A feedback prompt on the image and video feeds, so you can tell us directly how the new feed system is doing.

Special! Local Bear /name redacted/ (M̶o̶o̶n̶B̶e̶a̶r̶) is cracking down on Daily Challenges! CivBot judging? Review cycles? Engines? Bots? Copycats? He got you covered! +Solutions

Article available now on Civitai: Part 1 (link) Part 2 (link)

On RED: Part 1 (link) Part 2 (link)

Well, I would say /name redacted/ *cough* It's a Moonbear, used his analytical Ult on this one! If you ask me... the bear knows too much...

It's a legit good read. /name redacted/ *achoo* It's a Moonbear, he literally got into the site code. But if you just want the latest news, here's the cheatsheet.

Article 1: Le Problem
Assumption: CivBot judging is flawed, but AI judging is the only affordable way to run 2,000+ daily entries.
Problem: Scores tie, same concepts win, no transparency.
Solution: Rolling Swiss (4-image comparison) + Pairwise Ladder for finalists.

Article 2: La Reality
Problem: Bots farm rewards, CopyCats steal concepts, external gen bypasses model requirements, CivBot bias is reinforced by participants.
Solution: Account gates, generator-only submissions, creator-defined judging criteria, no img2img for dailies.

Breaking! They found a “bug" in the 25% creator compensation. It's going down. In exchange: licensing fees uncapped, and membership for Buzz is finally coming this week. Feedback open until Thursday.

Pretty please, comment on the official article, link below. They DO READ your messages. +Questions they have for YOU:

  • Now that you can see the math, does it look fair? Where would you draw the line between your value and our cost?
  • Monthly limit on new paid models, no cap on price: right lever, or would you shape it differently?
  • With fees uncapped, is there anything that stops them from replacing what compensation pays you today?

Keep the feedback coming!

Extra! The Creator Program 2026 is FINALIZED! New features: Creator Studio, BUY Membership for BUZZ, Set licensing fee for makers, access w a price for makers +shop, CREATOR COMPENSATION STAYS. +More

Thank you, people, for a great discussion! JustMaier made an assumption and the community helped to iron it out! You can thank him and the Civitai team by following the article.

TL;DR: Mass Exodus of Resource Makers from Civitai AVERTED + cool features!
https://civitai.com/articles/33294/the-2026-creator-program-the-full-picture

How you earn from your models

When someone generates with your model, you earn from it. Generator tips flow to you as well. That's the baseline for every creator, with nothing to set up - publish your work and it earns.

Everything below is optional, and it's there to give you more control and more ways to earn on top of that baseline.

Set your own licensing fee

You can set a fee that you earn every time someone generates with your model.

  • It's opt-in. Set a fee and you earn that fee instead of your share of base compensation and tips on that model; leave it alone and you keep earning the standard way.
  • It's fully reversible. Remove the fee anytime and the model goes right back to earning base compensation and tips.
  • Fees are fractional, so you can price for volume. Suggested starting points: around 1 buzz per image for base models, around 1 buzz per 10 images for LoRAs. These are just suggestions - the number is yours.
  • How much you can charge scales with your membership tier, so higher tiers can price higher.

How stacking works

A fine-tune's fee adds on top of the base model's fee. If Anima charges 5 buzz per image and you set your fine-tune at 1, a generation with your fine-tune costs 6 buzz total - 5 to the Anima creator, 1 to you. Everyone who contributed to the result gets paid.

Sell access to your models

Set a price for access to a model - for generation, download, or both.

  • Instead of limiting how many models you can put up for sale, we cap how much you can charge, scaled by your tier. (Free accounts may still have a limit on how many models they can list at once - we're finalizing that.)
  • If your membership ever lapses, your prices simply drop to the free-tier cap. Your models stay yours and stay behind their access - they never become free or public. You keep your whole catalogue at a lower price until you renew.
  • Timed early access works the way it always has: set while publishing, scaled by your creator score, no membership required.

The Creator Studio

One home for everything you earn from, and the numbers behind it.

  • See your earnings, broken out by source - generation compensation, tips, access sales, and cosmetic sales - and over time.
  • See your analytics - generations using your resources, downloads, follower counts, and how your models are actually being used.
  • Set and bulk-edit your licensing fees across many models in one action.
  • Manage access - early-access and paid-access, at a glance.

The Studio and its analytics are open to every creator, so you can always see how your work is doing. (Cashing out your earnings runs through the Creator Program, but seeing them is open to all.)

Your own Creator Shop

A real storefront on your profile - open to Creator Program members today, and rolling out to every creator soon.

  • Custom cosmetics you design and submit - badges, decorations, profile backgrounds, avatar frames. You keep 70% of each sale.
  • Your models show up alongside them when you flip the toggle.
  • Merch - physical print-on-demand goods you design - is coming as a fast-follow.

A hub to browse the whole community's cosmetics is on the way, too.

Spend buzz toward membership

You'll be able to put buzz you've already earned toward a membership's perks - a way in that routes around payment barriers. (This unlocks the perks, not the monthly buzz a paid membership includes.)

What a membership gets you

Membership is how you earn more: higher fee and price caps, buzz banking and payouts, the higher tiers, and the full set of Creator Program benefits. The essentials - earning from your models, setting a fee, and seeing your analytics - are open to everyone.

Thank you

You've carried this platform with your models for years, and this program exists to make that pay off. We'll keep building it with you, in the open. We can't wait to see what you do with it.

Extra! The Fate of Model makers economy. Day 2. They ARE listening! Solutions on the table: gradual maker fee, membership for yellow buzz, no auction, price limits for cheap daily challenges models.

Ideas we're exploring

We meant it about listening. Here are some of the specific ideas on the table right now. Nothing here is committed yet, and we'll keep adding to this list as the conversation continues.

  • Let everyone set a licensing fee, with a cap that grows by tier. Rather than fee-setting being members-only, free users could set a fee too - up to a maximum - and that maximum rises with each membership tier. If your membership lapses, your cap simply drops back to the free-tier limit: your prices come down, but you don't lose the ability to earn. The same capped approach could apply to paid access, so a lapsed membership lowers your prices rather than cutting you off.
  • Put yellow buzz toward membership. Let creators spend buzz they've already earned toward membership perks instead of only paying cash. (You can already earn membership through referrals today.)
  • Retire the auction requirement so keeping your checkpoint available in the generator doesn't depend on spending buzz to hold a slot.
  • Keep Daily Challenge models cheap to enter, so a challenge model's fees don't outstrip the buzz you earn from participating.

Keep the ideas coming in the comments - this is exactly the input we want.

Extra! Fundamental news for MODEL MAKERS. Potential End of an era. 25% model use fee disappears. from SEPTEMBER 2026. Members can set it up. But what about non-members? +Founder comment +make-a-Shop

User asks (IcebergMM): What happens to non members with models after the cutover? Do they stop earning buzz at all unless they become a member?

Founder comment (JustMaier): Fair question, and I want to be straight with you. At the cutover the flat 25% generation compensation ends for everyone. After that, earning on a generation comes from a licensing fee you set, and setting one needs a Creator Program membership. You can still earn without a membership through early access and tips, it's the passive per-generation share that becomes a member benefit. The honest reason: we're still not a sustainable business and we're working hard to get there without gutting what makes this good for creators. We're watching closely this month and we're listening. Depending on how it goes, we're open to keeping a base compensation for creators who don't set a fee, so a licensing fee would be the upside rather than the only way to earn. Nothing locked in, but I wanted you to know it's on the table.
