It has been a journey indeed!
The heat wrapped around them like silk.
Lena sat tucked against Noah’s chest at the open-air bar, her blue dress slipping low against sun-kissed skin while his hand rested possessively on her thigh beneath the table. Around them, the resort hummed with quiet temptation, clinking glasses, slow music, lingering stares.
She noticed the attention.
So did he.
“You like it,” Noah murmured against her ear.
Lena took a slow sip of her drink, pretending innocence. “Like what?”
“The way people keep looking at you.”
His fingers slid higher beneath the table, just enough to make her breath catch. The motion was subtle, hidden from everyone else, but the tension it sparked nearly melted her composure.
“You wore this dress on purpose,” he said.
“Maybe I wore it for you.”
“That’s the problem.” His voice darkened. “I’m starting to think you wore it knowing everyone else would want you too.”
The words sent a dangerous thrill through her.
The resort had changed them faster than either expected. Every hallway glance, every accidental touch in the pool, every whispered compliment from strangers had stripped away another layer of restraint.
Now Noah looked at her like he was starving.
And Lena loved it.
A warm breeze lifted her hair as she shifted closer, pressing against him just enough to feel the tension in his body. His jaw tightened instantly.
“Careful,” he warned softly.
“Or what?”
He leaned in, lips brushing her neck slowly enough to make her knees weak.
“Or I’m taking you upstairs right now.”
Lena smiled, slow, confident, reckless.
“Then maybe,” she whispered, “you shouldn’t threaten me with a good time.”
For a second, neither of them moved.
Then Noah stood abruptly, grabbed her hand, and led her toward the glowing resort elevators while the music throbbed behind them like a heartbeat.
