I've been listening to this song but the lyrics seems a bit weirdly complex. So I had to research about the lyric's meaning and asked AI, it basically is about online intimacy. But what I noticed the girl in the lyrics seems assertive while the main character, a guy, seems like he is nervous.

Here are the some lines that sounds very D/s:

"There's something 'bout her stare that makes you nervous... And you say the things you don't mean"

Ngl, very femdom vibes. A glance from a woman makes you lose control of your rationality. Something that feels hypnotic.

“Maybe I would like you better if you took off your clothes”

Oh, the girl is challenging him. It's about approval.

Hmmm. This. Nothing is hotter than a woman who knows what she wants. Someone who is direct about her desires. No more guessing. Straight up confidence.

The best line ever. This is basically talking about consent. The girl isn't forcing the anxious guy. She is reassuring him. It invites communication of boundaries.

At this time, this became my favorite song from The 1975. Not because it sounds 80's pop-ish, but the lyrics finally made sense to me.

I find it a bit disappointing that a lot of people especially men have little to no clue about why aftercare is a necessity. However, this is a gender-based issue. Aftercare isn't just for females but males do deserve it too. Sex is a gift and it must be enjoyed regardless of a person's upbringing. This is why consent and trust is an integral part of the experience. To violate such ethics, it not just ruins the experience but also life-denying but I digress.

I must say that aftercare is to respect your own and someone else's body. When you work out in the gym, you supplement it with a good diet and give your body a rest day. That's how aftercare is like. Sex is an emotionally and physically intense experience and we people will focus in the moment, but not how it feels after. Even after the act, the body and mind lags behind as hormones and adrenaline subside. Without aftercare, it results to feeling confused, disgusted, and hmmm— felt being used. "What in the just happened?", says your brain.

Aftercare isn't just to comfort, it's to bring our body and mind grounded. Simple gestures like cuddles, a glass of water, blankets for warmth, and stay close with someone, silently reminds your nervous system, "Hey it's okay. You're safe and respected. You're human".

With full honesty, aftercare isn't optional if emotional responsibility is your values because consent doesn't end when your done fucking each other. It continues on how we treat each other afterwards. Without the benefits of aftercare, despite engaging in a fully consented sexual encounter, it still feels like a bricks of displaced emotional residue. With it, it is less likely for us to experience feeling used and disgusted with our own bodies.

Aftercare isn't your typical sprinkles, it's the main ingredient for an ice cream base. We are humans, not a lump of pleasurable piece of meat.
