Slave of Eternity

Slaves outnumber overseers twenty to one in Submissa, yet the agents of the militaristic regime have the upper hand. With just the press of a button, they can put down their slaves through the shock collars and the magnetic restraining devices placed on their wrists.

A slave girl submitted to her mistress, eager to please her and avoid more punishment. In the meantime, a fellow slave girl refuses to bend the knee, hating her fellow slave for licking the boot of the oppressor. She knows she has to take action and she calculates her strike, to smash the head of her domina at the right moment. Deep down she knows that, in order to liberate her fellow slave girl, she has to think like a slave mistress.

Night of the Undead Slaves

Disclaimer: This is not an actual film, but a short story presented through a poster that imitates a movie cover. This artwork is also a complete rework of another artwork that I posted on one of my previous accounts.

Night of the Undead Slaves

Patricia is all alone on her family’s estate, somewhere in the mountains of northern Italy, just a few miles away from the small town of Bolzano. She plans to throw a secret party in the old mansion, without her parents’ knowledge. As a professional belly dancer, she is also planning to entertain her guests with an amazing performance. So, dressed in her harem outfit, wearing a beautiful golden and ruby jewelry around her neck, she decided to practice her dance moves.

She still has one day left until her friends will show up, so she might as well explore the family mansion. It was a beautiful Italian villa, built in the 18th century, in a neoclassical style. As she started to wander around the library, still dressed in her harem dancer outfit, after some rehearsals, she stumbles upon a rather odd book. A black, worn out book with a strange, golden eye painted on the cover.

Her gut feeling tells her to not touch that book. Her father might find out she’s been around the family’s estate without his permission. Or worse, she might read something not for her eyes. And yet, curiosity got the best of her, and pushed her to reach for that bleak, sinister book and open it.

As she removed the book from the shelf, she discovered a small lever. Still pushed forward by curiosity, she activated the hidden, rusting contraption. Before her very eyes, the bookshelf swung open like a door, revealing a narrow and somber staircase. Equipped with her phone’s flashlight and the bleak book, she started to descend downstairs.

The book mentioned quite a lot of fascinating things. Written in Latin, the old book contained invaluable knowledge about history, slavery, and… a terrible curse. However, Patricia was more curious about this bizarre corridor.

As she wandered through the corridor, she discovered a whole underground maze, filled with rooms and ever-expanding corridors. Until finally, she started to climb some stairs and she reached a gigantic wooden door. She pushed it open, and the old entrance creaked painfully, startling all the spiders and insects in the dark catacombs.

As she explored the interior of this wide room, it became clear that this was a crypt. And as she approached an ancient altar, her ruby emitted a sinister, red glow for just a brief moment. Did it really glow, or was it all in her head? Before she could think about it, a tall, dark woman appeared before her. A goddess or a priestess of the Ancients. And before she knew it, the priestess opened her arms wide, to reveal a bleak mass of tentacles and glowing snake eyes.

Terrified, Patricia ran out of the crypt, almost falling down the staircase. And as she took a quick glance back, she saw that the worst was yet to come: the priestess summoned a whole army of reanimated corpses that started to chase Patricia, hungry for her blood.

As the black book would reveal, Patricia is likely the descendant of an ancient aristocratic Roman family that owned hundreds of slaves. The jewelry around her neck was a family treasure from long gone generations. Even the ruby jewelry itself, was not crafted by a Roman, but stolen from an abducted woman that was sold into slavery.

The Italian mansion was built on top of an ancint crypt, where thirty slave girls have been buried after they have been either worked to death, sentenced to death, or sacrificed in sinister rituals. The tall, bleak female silhouette is the revenant of an ancient priestess with unknown barbarian origins. Enraged by the presence of the jewelry near her resting place, she awakened, summoning an army of thirty undead slave girls.

As they came back to life, the reanimated corpses, covered in dust, dirt, spiderwebs, and rotting flesh, fixed their eyes on Patricia. Confounding her for one of their slave owners, they charged towards her. Enraged by her luxurious garments, her golden threads, her soft skin and her beautiful hair, her disgusting privilege and wealth, built off their broken backs, the corpses could only feel unquenchable rage and desperation. They were all out for blood. Their mangled, disjointed bodies leaped forward. Their lifeless eyes were glowing like gold. Their rusting shackles were dangling and clinking. But their hearts were not beating, their rotten brains were no longer thinking, and their stomachs were no longer digesting any food.

After living for several decades in misery and frustration and enduring a restless wait in their graves for two thousand years, there is nothing left of them, except pure rage. And the victim of that merciless wrath is Patricia, a woman that must now endure terrible terrors, for her ignorance.

Perhaps, Patricia will have enough time to read the right paragraph in the black book. The one that clearly states the only way to break the curse. She must remove all luxurious clothing and accessories from her body, she must chain her ankles, wrists, and neck with shackles and collars, and she must bring the cursed ruby to the altar of the barbarian priestess, begging for her mercy, begging to be forgiven for her ignorance and her cruelty. And the priestess might accept her offering. She might appear before her in her human form, as a beautiful woman from the distant lands of the barbaric tribes. And she might hold Patricia in her arms, the same way in which a loving mother hugs her daughter.

But until then, Patricia must survive the Night of the Undead Slaves.
