 She closed her eyes and pressed her head against his shoulders. When his arms wrapped around her, she no longer felt the freezing night. After a long time, her mind felt weightless.

The world shrank into a garden. Inside it, Tia found her home on Peter's shoulders. His lips gently pressed against her forehead like the way she always imagined. Might be better than her imagination. She had never imagined being held like this, inside his arms, closer to his heart. 

Henry had hugged her many times. But his eyes never looked like Peter's. Peter's eyes made her feel safe. She could look at them without blinking. 

But why didn't she feel like this earlier? 

She might be scared. The world could erupt when they hear about a married woman and a priest. They would only blame her. 

“Tia! Where are you?”

Henry called out from inside. The world in which she lived suddenly disappeared. The distant house felt closer to her. She pushed Peter back. In a rush she tucked her hair behind her ears and before she left him, she leaned forward and kissed him on his cheek.

Her head down and voice lowered.

"May the Lord be in your heart and help you to confess your sins with true sorrow.” An unfamiliar voice replied to her, a shadow appeared in the curtain.

“Father, I cheated on my husband,” Tia wept. Her voice turned heavy, losing words in her throat.
