Hi, sorry if this is dumb but does anyone here have experience with the effects of paracodin?

I don't do drugs, I don't even smoke. But I got a prescription for paracodin yesterday because I've had a cough for almost two months now. I took a dosage of 20 drops, as I'd been told. And it made me feel super weird, like woozy and I felt like I had to cough but couldn't. I ended up puking even though I wasn't even feeling that nauseous, I just suddenly knew I was about to puke.

I'm confused because that was just a normal dosage, so I don't know what happened. My gf says I was acting strange like I was severely sleep deprived and not really coherent.

Idk what happened and whether I should keep taking it.
