{story} Fox + Luna in Deep Freeze
The camping trip had not gone as planned. The temperature was supposed to stay a modest 50 degrees Fahrenheit. She'd come prepared with a sleeping bag and some hand warmers to make sure she didn't freeze.
At the campsite, after the tent had been set up, the temperature began dropping as the sun went down. Much to be expected, but it seemed to be getting much colder than the weatherman predicted.
"Fox, you sure you read the weather right? Low 50s, maybe upper 40s?" Luna asked.
"Yeah, that's what the news said," Fox replied, "but the news could've been wrong."
"How are you not freezing to death? You don't even have a coat on?"
"I got fur. They say it can handle down to the negative 90s. The money we save on costs just goes into our shampoo."
Luna raised her phone to the sky to try to find a mobile data signal. She found one, strong enough to access her weather app. As soon as she opened it, a warning message showed up: [WEATHER ALERT - IT WILL BE LITETALLY NEGATIVE 20 TONIGHT. DON'T ASK HOW.]
Luna ignored that last bit, angrily yelling how it could get to negative 20 degrees literal days after it reached 110. She wouldn't have been so mad at this temperature if it hadn't arrived without any notice. Luna was a former scout, and she'd camped in the single-digit temperatures. But that was with two layers of winter coats, and this time Luna only brought a hoodie.
"Dagnabbit, weather guy, why couldn't you have predicted the next frickin' ice age?"
The temperature was already 30 and dropping fast. The campfire they made was helping, but it couldn't last for long.
"Fox, I think I'm going to have to get into my sleeping bag. That's decently heat-holding."
"Fine with me. I'll extinguish the fire when I'm done."
Luna's sleeping bag was barely helping. She was already shivering in her bag from the coldness. She searched through her bag for some sort of heat source, but instead she found Fox's shrink ray. She always brought it with her for self-defense reasons. She also found a pair of digest-proof armor.
"Uh, Fox," Luna called out, "We might need a different plan for my sleeping arrangement."
"How so?"
"Well, I'm already freezing despite my sleeping bag, so I need to sleep someplace warmer. Your... uh... how do I put this?"
"You want me to eat you so my internal body temperature keeps you alive?"
"...Yes. Do it quickly."
"Any specific size you want?"
"Choose anything!"
"But the armor-"
"Ugh!"
Luna practically tore off her hoodie and put on the armor. As soon as that was done, Fox shrunk her and ate her. Facefirst, Luna was pushed by Fox's esophagus into her stomach. Free from the cold, Luna found a spot on the side of her stomach to lay down on. She had no rush to exit her body, so she tried to avoid the intestine.
"How many times have you eaten me, Fox?"
"If I do the math correctly... this would be nineteen."
"Wow, nineteen already?"
"You're a tasty snack. Delicious little morsel. Scrumptious crumb, predestined to be my food. It's good that you're into this."
"Definitely."
"I'll extinguish the campfire then head to bed. I'll be up bright and early tomorrow!"
Fox laughed.
"And I'll probably sleep in. No need to wake up early when you're being carried like this."
"Yeah, no, you're waking up with me."
