To help clean up the excessive spam and bot activity we’ve been seeing, I’ve added new requirements for creating posts in this community.

Effective immediately, accounts must have:

* At least 90 days of account age

* At least 200 combined karma

I apologize that the community has been overrun with spam. I’m still relatively new to moderating and learning how Reddit works, so this is one of the steps I’m taking to improve the quality of the subreddit and reduce abuse.

As many of you have noticed, we’ve been dealing with a significant increase in spam and bot activity. I recently introduced new account age and karma requirements, and the response showed that many people have strong opinions about where those limits should be set. Rather than making the decision unilaterally, I’d like to hear from the community.

What do you think the requirements should be?

Please share your thoughts on:

* Minimum account age
* Minimum post karma
* Minimum comment karma
* Whether requirements should differ for posting
vs. commenting

My priority is reducing spam and bots while still allowing genuine new members to participate. I’ll review all community input before making any further changes. Thank you!
