[TF4A] The wimp you used to pick on is now a gorgeous transwoman. (A Modern, Slice-of-Life Romance)
As you gently nurse a glass of bourbon, you can’t help but yawn at the monotonous chatter surrounding you. This is the third “new employee” event that you’ve been forced to attend this month – the company’s recent hiring spree may be lightening the corporate workload, but these constant welcome events certainly aren’t lightening yours. You try your best to be a good boss, but you can only endure so many icebreaker conversations with co-workers that you’ll inevitably forget the name of.
Then she walks in.
You’re not the only person to notice, of course. Multiple heads turn as she squeezes through the crowd, her straightened brown locks swishing along her shoulders as she does so. Modest but notable curves are wrapped in a sleek, black dress, hips swaying perfectly to the beat of whatever work-friendly, Top 40 hit is droning through the room’s speakers. She has a striking, but almost familiar form of beauty – like an attractive neighbor, or an old crush that you can’t help but routinely stalk on Instagram every few months.
You’re quite captivated. After a slog of conversations with the other saps in the room, she’s certainly the type of employee you wouldn’t mind meeting – to hell with the HR concerns. So, as she reaches her place at the bar, you decisively slam down the last gulp of your drink and make your way toward her, praying that the liquid courage infuses your introduction with some additional charisma.
Little do you realize, however, no introduction will be required. As stark as her beauty is, it feels familiar for a reason. This is no stranger. You know this woman – in fact, you’ve known this woman since before you or her realized there was a woman to know at all.

Hey there, friend!
Had this idea pop up in my head the other night and decided I needed to explore it with a willing (and preferably enthusiastic) partner! I’m looking for something long-term and slow-burn, with plenty of twists, turns, and development. If our characters are the exact same post-story as they were pre-story, something definitely went wrong. If it helps, think HBO Drama – mature, psychological, witty, cineamtic, romantic, risqué, and just a little bit steamy at times!
As suggested by the title, you will be playing an ex-jock, far removed from his letterman days and now functioning as a mature, buttoned-up corporate employee. I will be playing a pre-op transwoman, coming into the company as entry-level staff. She’s just recently moved cities in order to fully step into her new identity but, in a crude twist of irony, she’s immediately faced with her past: your character, who used to pick on her for the feminine body she’s now making every effort to embrace. To add even greater complication, he doesn’t even recognize the woman he’s been so quick to hit on – not off the bat at least. And it’s from this dysfunctional root that our beautiful love story shall sprout! ❤️🔥
Please note that, while I am posting in this sub, I do not intend smut to be the overwheming focus of this roleplay. It will certainly have a steamy, risqué feel, but I tend to be more fade-to-black – it’s always the tension and build-up that’s enticing to me, not necessarily the event itself. Again, think along the lines of an HBO show – always sexy, but much more than elaborate than a montage of sex scenes.
Rather, I’d really love to play with the psychology of all this – serious bonus points if you’re willing to dive into some more mature notions, such as homophobia, transphobia, and forbidden workplace relationships! Both characters can and should be flawed in their own ways – no reason to water down human nature.
I do my best work and find roleplays most enjoyable when I can truly connect with my writing partner, excitably chattering OOC alongside the actual writing. I love getting lost in developing a story with someone, constantly throwing out character ideas, sub-plots, and worldbuilding notions. I adore getting to the place where our little, made-up world is like a sexy TV show we both watch and commentate on – it makes even the slowest moments of plot progression so much more enjoyable!
