I'm not sure what about it gets you all off, but I know what it is for me. A lot of roleplay leans into the dynamic of control and how it goes back and forth, and for some people they prefer to have it more naturally balance itself out. Others though? They just want it all taken away. They crave the feeling of being at the mercy of someone - or in this case, something (yes, we'll get there) else.
Add on top of that the factor of what's actually happening in your brain. Sleep and dreams kind of fit in with the whole erotic roleplay schtick quite well! Disregarding the somnophilia fetish entirely, people tend to use these sorts of ERPs as escape, or a way to fulfill their dreams. Or, for some real freaks, their worst nightmares. We don't have to be ashamed about it! Sometimes the things that make us cry, feel ill, or feel like death is imminent are the kinkiest things to us. And the cherry on top? It. The thing that lurks in the back of your head when the paralysis finally kicks in. There's a lot of different interpretations people have had of their sleep paralysis entities, and today, I wanted to pose some esoteric roleplays that I REALLY want to run based off of which of these entities lurks in my unconscious mind.
I had three themes and three entities in mind for you all:
Sleep paralysis guardian (wholesome, cute, cuddly) - It's odd to see a beautiful glowing angelic figure when my body gives in to the paralysis. She illuminates the room in my minds' eye, filling in the darkness with all of the details as best as my brain can remember. She lays on top of me, her outlined hand resting on my cheek and stroking it gently. It's hard to make out much detail in her body for whatever reason, but I can see a crooked golden halo resting over her head, and eyes all over her body like she was an angel straight out of the bible. I try to open my mouth to speak byut she rests a finger over it and shushes me in a voice that makes my whole paralyzed body melt. "Hush,." She whispers. "I'm not here to bring you harm. I'm here to help you. Let me take your mind under with me, and we'll make sure you wake up a better man. I'll be by your side the whole time. We'll walk the long road of the night together."
Sleep paralysis entity (kinky, overly indulgent) - The familiar heaviness of my limbs that I've gotten used to is greeted with the same sight as always. She manifests in different forms usually, but this time she picked a doozy. An anthropomorphic canine, a spiked collar around her neck that has a broken chain running down it along her front. Her tail sways gently behind her as she instinctively moves to wrap her hands around my neck before catching herself and moving up to cup my cheeks. Sleep paralysis demon (dark, horror, taboo) - When the dim light that did fill my room grew darker than before I knew I had to try and move. But it was too late. It was back. Two pinprick red dots and a cartoonish, poorly-drawn mouth filled with razor sharp teeth. It's not speaking, it's...using my mind as its puppet to talk. But of course. I'm you, so why would I bother using a different voice? Maybe tonight is the night where you'll finally give in and we can go into the void together. But...for now...I think that neck of yours is looking a bit too whole. We'll practice the pain together. Deep breath.
I was looking for any of these tones really! It can be just one, or it can be a mix! The overall premise is that my sleep paralysis creature(s?) would be using me every night, taking me on various fantastical, smutty, or horrifying dreamscapes for as long as they have me. It can be left as solely something in my mind that I have to deal wth, or it can be a supernatural force that I'm stuck with! All of these details can be discussed out of character of course.

Waking up this morning was a bit of a weird experience.
