Moving to the big city was a big step for me. Growing up, I lived in the smallest town you could think of. Think one stop light, 20 kids in the whole school, that kinda place. As I got older, I realized I wanted to explore the world, meet different people, etc.
After graduating high school, I made my way to college. While going to college was a foregone conclusion for many, it wasn’t for me. I was the first person from my small, rural town to go to college. Now, I didn’t go to the biggest college, but it was much bigger than my high school. But I had my eyes set on bigger. After 4 great years, I had graduated and made the decision to move to Los Angeles. Little did I know, but that decision would forever change my life.
After months and months of planning, it was finally the day. I parked the UHaul in front of the apartment complex and walked inside, getting the keys from the front desk. After getting my keys, I grabbed a few bags and headed upstairs to the 10th floor. I took a deep breath and unlocked the door, opening into my new apartment and new world. After placing my bags in the apartment, I went back out when I was greeted by who apparently was my neighbor, a towering and muscular man. He smirked at me as he was ushering a small blonde girl out of his apartment. “Hi… you must be Nikki” he says with a smile “The apartment always tell the neighbors who is moving in. I’m James” he says, extending his hand.
