**My Girlfriend Was Already Trained Chapter 23 Summary:**

A man is looking around for someone in a cafe. MC's mom (Lee Shin-ah) is wearing sunglasses and calls out to him. He sits down and thanks her for choosing his detective agency and notes that it's their first time meeting up in person. The private investigator notes how beautiful Shin-ah is in person. She tells him to refrain from making personal remarks. He apologizes and says let's get down to business.

He has been investigating MC (Seong-min) at her request. He asked around in the school to find out what happened before the cooking competition and did not find anything unusual. He says MC was just living a normal life and preparing for the competition.  Shin-ah asks is that all?  He says well there were a couple of things. He asks if she has heard of Telegram before? She says no. He says it's a messenger app similar to Kakao but with high-level security. As such, it's often used for illegal activities. And he checked Seong-min's phone and found he has been using Telegram.

Shin-ah stands up shocked. She asks if Seong-min has been involved in something criminal? The investigator motions for Shin-ah to calm down and says no. The one they suspect is Ha-young. They have noted a few suspicious things about her. Specifically, they would have expected a girlfriend to have been by MC's side going through all of this, checking up on him and comforting him.  But there are no chat records at all between Ha-young and MC. Or to be more precise, the conversation was deleted from the day of the competition. He notes that of course they may have broken up and deleted everything.

He reaches into his pocket and asks Shin-ah to take a look at something. He shows her a patch in a plastic bag. He says this patch was stuck on MC's neck the day of the competition. It was on him when he was being treated at the hospital after the live broadcast incident. It looks like an ordinary bandage, but they found it is laced with a drug. Shin-ah clenches her fist at the table and asks if the drug is why MC acted the way he did on live television?  The investigator says most likely yes.  

He reiterates that Ha-young is the number one person of interest, due to the deleted chat history, use of Telegram, and this unknown drug patch. He also notes that Ha-young's whereabouts are completely unknown. He asks if perhaps Ha-young and MC had some secret they were sharing through Telegram? He says that he thinks the drug patch is connected to her, though it may be an overreach on his part. 

Shin-ah asks him to find Ha-young. She says she needs to know what happened between Ha-young and Seong-min. She needs to see every deleted message, where Ha-young is and what she is doing. She says money is no object.  She stands up to leave. The investigator says it's no problem and that the cost is 4 million won. She is about to leave and he says there's one more thing. He says that she had asked him if he knew of any psychological experts?  He says that he knows someone who is quite well-known. He gives her a business card.

She leaves the cafe and walks off. She thinks to herself that the detectives are just in it for the money. She thinks of how uneasy she felt when he leered at her and scanned her body when they initially met up. She looks at the business card of the psychologist that he gave to her. She thinks skeptically of any referral from the detective but thinks that she has no other option anyway.  She calls the number on the card.

Douche answers the phone. He is fucking Ha-young (I think), who has her wrists bound, a ball gag in her mouth and an anal probe inserted. She has short hair now. He continues to fuck her while speaking to the mom. He tells the mom that he's already heard about her and that he is Mr. Choi, a psychotherapist and can help. Chapter ends.
