If you don’t know how rose and thorn works, your rose is something that happened that was good and made you happy. Your thorn is something that wasn’t so great and made you unhappy.

My rose was that all my friends finally got into town after our university’s summer break! It was quite a lonely summer and I’m happy to have them back.

My thorn was that in the two weeks I have seen three of my exes and had a fourth message begging to get back together. Not great for my mental health but we keep balling!

Hi y’all. This is a long one but I think it’s important discourse and important that you all read it. Please be kind to one another in the comments and I’d love to hear your thoughts!

I’ve unfortunately seen quite a few concerning comments and posts on this subreddit as of late. I want to make sure we’re it crystal clear that femdom is inherently rooted in feminism and we cannot tolerate bigotry or hatred from anyone of any gender.

What is femisim? According to Merriam-Webster feminism is defined as, “belief in and advocacy of the political, economic, and social equality of the sexes expressed especially through organized activity on behalf of women's rights and interests.”

Historically feminism pertained to raising women up to be equal to men. Now it has expanded to encompass raising up all marginalized groups including marginalized men to be equal to one another. The goal is equity and inclusion.

There are many women around the world who would like to practice femdom but are unable to due to strict societal gender norms. Yes there are people of all genders out there who would be physically harmed for engaging in the sexual behaviors we take for granted. I often hear the question posed, “why are there so few dommes?”in short women are socialized to be submissive and the point of feminism and anti-patriarchy is to demolish gender roles so that people may be fully self actualized and can choose of their own free will to be submissive or dominant.

What is not feminism? Feminism is not the discourse that happens on different subreddits that falls into misogyny or misandry. It is not about raising one group of people above another. It was created with the intent to make women equal to men and expanded to make every person equal.

Men get hurt by patriarchal values too. When you got into femdom did you feel ashamed for wanting to be submissive? This is your social programming speaking. It is the culmination being told you had to act a certain way to be your gender. You are hurt by patriarchy too. If you were socialized as a guy you are told you must hide your emotions, be strong, and never cry. But femdom provides a space where you don’t have to conform to gender norms. You can be submissive, you can cry, you can be sensitive and feel deeply even if the world has told you otherwise.

Femdom is a safe space for so many people. Let’s keep it safe and not engage in bigotry or hatred. We do not need a gender war here, we need subs and dommes to all understand it is our job to promote feminism and equality for all people.
