Boyfriend put me back in tighty whities

My boyfriend took away all my underwear except tighty whities — and honestly, I needed the reset
Earlier this week, my boyfriend did something he’d clearly been thinking about for a while.
One night after I’d gone to bed, he went into my underwear drawer and removed every pair of boxers and boxer briefs I owned. He didn’t ask me that night or announce what he was doing. He knew we’d talked around the idea before, and I think he knew deep down that I wanted him to stop talking about it and actually take charge.
I discovered it the next morning.
I showered, opened my drawer to get dressed, and found it almost completely empty. Everything was gone except the few pairs of traditional white Hanes briefs I already owned.
Proper tighty whities.
I went to him somewhat incredulously asking what he’d done, and he was very matter-of-fact about it: my other underwear was put away, and for the next week or two, these were what I was wearing.
That was it.
Obviously, if I genuinely wanted to stop, I could. That’s understood between us. But he also knew that giving me an easy way out would defeat what I actually wanted from this.
So I pulled on a pair of Hanes and started my first day back in tighty whities full-time.
And surprisingly, it’s been a really good reset.
I have a high-stress job where I’m constantly responsible for things, making decisions and thinking several steps ahead. I’m currently on a break from work and school, and apparently having this one completely harmless area of my life where I don’t have to decide anything is exactly what I needed.
Every morning, I open the drawer and there isn’t a choice.
No boxer briefs depending on what I’m wearing. No boxers because I feel like being comfortable. No debating whether I’m still doing the experiment today.
There are just white Hanes briefs.
That’s what I’m allowed, so that’s what goes on.
There’s definitely something intimate and a little embarrassing about being put back into such traditional underwear. They’re not trendy briefs or something designed to look fashionable. They’re unmistakably old-school Hanes tighty whities, which is part of what makes the whole thing work for me.
But the thing I’m enjoying most isn’t really the underwear. It’s the authority and lack of options.
My boyfriend didn’t just tell me what he wanted me to wear and then leave everything else sitting in the drawer. He removed the alternatives. Every morning that nearly empty drawer quietly reinforces the rule without him needing to say anything.
I find that incredibly grounding.
The only problem is that I owned just a few pairs, because obviously I wasn’t planning on suddenly wearing tighty whities seven days a week. So now we’re doing laundry constantly.
Which means I need more.
I’m hoping my boyfriend takes me shopping in person and makes me pick up enough packages of traditional Hanes briefs to properly stock my drawer. And yes, part of me hopes he makes me carry them through a normal checkout instead of letting me quietly disappear through self-checkout.
The cashier wouldn’t know or care why I’m buying several packs of tighty whities.
But we would.
And I think that private understanding between us is what makes the whole thing feel intimate rather than just embarrassing.
His original plan was a week or two, but I’m actually hoping he keeps my boxers and boxer briefs confiscated through the end of August.
I want the full reset.
For the rest of the month, I don’t want to think about what underwear I’m wearing tomorrow. I don’t want backup options sitting in the drawer. I don’t particularly want to negotiate about it.
Just wake up, open the drawer, put on my Hanes tighty whities, and get on with my day.
After spending so much of my normal life being responsible and making decisions, there’s something unexpectedly freeing about having one silly little decision that simply isn’t mine right now.
And apparently being put back in tighty whities was exactly the kind of reset I needed.

Accepting a private bartending gig… and only finding out the uniform when I walked into the guest room

I’m mid 30s and pick up private bartending jobs on the side. Last weekend a guy messaged me about working his friend’s 30th birthday. Pay was good, hours were short, house was in a nice neighborhood. Everything sounded completely normal. I said yes.
I showed up in black jeans and a button-down, ready to set up. The host answered the door, shook my hand, and said, “Perfect timing. You can change in the guest room down the hall. Uniform’s already laid out for you. Guests start arriving in about twenty minutes.”
I figured it would be a black shirt or maybe a vest. Something themed. I walked down the hall, opened the door, and stopped.
In the middle of the bed was a single pair of white tighty whities. Bright, cheap-looking Fruit of the Loom style. Nothing else. No shirt. No pants. No socks. Just the briefs, neatly folded like it was the most normal thing in the world.
I stood there for a solid ten seconds just staring at them.
I stepped back into the hallway and found the host. Tried to keep my voice steady. “Hey… is this the uniform?”
He grinned like he’d been waiting for the question. “Yeah. That’s what he specifically requested. Bartender serves in nothing but those. You still good? Pay’s the same either way, but the guys are expecting it.”
I looked back at the open doorway. The white briefs sitting there under the soft bedroom light. My stomach dropped. Part of me wanted to walk straight out to my car. The other part of me already calculated how much the night was worth and how fast twenty minutes goes when you’re panicking.
I went back into the room and shut the door.
Changing felt surreal. Jeans off. Shirt off. Socks off. Then pulling on the tighty whities. They were a little small. The waistband sat higher than I liked and the fabric was thin enough that there was zero mystery left. I caught my reflection in the mirror on the closet door and just stared for a second, feeling my face heat up. This was actually happening.
When I walked out into the kitchen the host gave me a once-over and nodded like I’d passed inspection. “Looks good. Bar’s set up over there. Guest’s will start arriving soon” he said.
They did.
The first few guests did double-takes. Then the laughter started. Someone immediately pulled out their phone. Another guy clapped me on the shoulder and said, “Holy shit, he actually showed up in them.” I kept my face as neutral as I could and started making drinks, but every movement felt exaggerated. Reaching for the shaker. Bending for ice. Turning to grab a bottle off the counter. The thin white cotton didn’t hide anything, and I could feel eyes on me the entire time.
People kept finding excuses to come up to the bar. Comments ranged from “respect for committing” to straight-up laughter when I had to stretch or lean. One guy kept “accidentally” standing right in my peripheral vision just to watch. A girl asked if the uniform came with the job or if I’d brought it myself. I just kept pouring and smiling like this was any other shift.
By the end of the night my face felt permanently warm, the tighty whities were damp from melted ice and a couple of spills, and I’d made more in tips than I usually clear in a full weekend. The birthday guy shook my hand, still laughing, and said it was the best entertainment they’d had in years.
I changed back in the same guest room, shoved the ruined briefs into a plastic bag, and got out of there as fast as I could.
