A local politician is coming to tour the prison. So there are no surprises the warden has the guards search all the cells for contraband. While this is happening all the inmates are collected in the common area and made to strip search. All the clothes are gathered and new ones are issued. Bright orange crew socks, bright orange briefs and bras, and tight fitting orange jumpsuits.
There was a high profile execution the night before you are brought through intake. After a detailed strip search and a delousing shower the guards give you a stack of clothes. A worn orange jumpsuit, dingy jailhouse white briefs and white crew socks, and orange plastic slide. The first guard turns to other and mumbles, "these are the sizes we always run out of. Fortunately one uniform was freed up last night." The second guard looks right at you, "hear that, you almost got a uniform that would be oversized. Executions are a good thing." That is that. You are now forced to wear the clothes that someone wore as they underwent lethal injection. You are wearing the clothes someone died in.
I see a lot of posts here about folks being bullied and made fun of for wearing TWs. While I do enjoy the humiliation myself, I wanted to share one of the reasons I started to like TWs again. I switched to boxers in fifth or sixth grade. It was not my choice, I was just given them. I had minimal TWs and mostly boxers. I was active on cross country and all the other guys on the team also wore boxers. One of the better girls developed a rivalry with me. Over the summer we went to a few runs and half marathons (junior marathon?). After one we went to the beach. Because of whatever angle and how I was sitting she saw my balls. She immediately started complaining about how I wasn't wearing underwear. I told her that I had boxers on. She responded back that those were shorts and that real men wear TWs.
Later that winter we both joined the ski team. When we were waxing our skis before a big race she was talking about how the high school kids wore spandex suits and you could see their underwear. As we talked she teased me about not wearing TWs and she said she thought they were sexy. I wore a pair to the race and made sure she could see the the FTL waistband above my snow pants on the bus ride back.
I had to wear TWs one day in eight grade because all of my boxers were in the wash. She somehow found out or knew and lifted my shirt up in between class to check out the waistband. We dated over the summer. In high school we were more serious on the cross country team. The uniform had built in liners for the shorts. The guys, especially the upper classmen made fun of me for not wearing boxers with them. She defended me the whole season, and shamed all the other guys into wearing them without boxers. We broke up and drifted apart after that, but I always will remember the girl that liked TWs.
To this day I find most women are more interested or curious about TWs than annoyed. It is a stigma we need to break.
