Just got a ti and I’ve tried convection a few times with no success. I’m using a torch and torching the convection area while spinning and painting that little area. I tried going about 5 sec past the second click but all I got was a little flavor. Each time I’ve ended up just going hybrid and don’t get me wrong the hybrid hits are amazing but I’d like to know if I’m doing anything wrong.

I currently own an OG mighty and I have been looking for an upgrade for some time, but I’m a very “buy once, cry once” kind of person and the amount of options are a little overwhelming especially considering my highly indecisive tendencies. After spending hours watching too many reviews to count, I had decided the solo 3 v2 would be my next device.
I expected to be able to easily find one in stock locally considering the increasing popularity of the solo and the vastness of the Southern California cannabis industry. I was wrong. After searching high and low, I was able to determine my only option would be to order one online.
This turned me off from my immediate desire to own one, as I am very impatient and hate shelling out the money without being able to have it in hand right away. I know it’s quite silly but it was enough to make me forget about it for a bit.
Fast forward to a few days ago. I stumbled back into this sub and was inclined to reengage my VAS. I have never owned a stick DHV before but the perceived hype around the simrell piqued my curiosity. After more than one deep dive I decided to order a new simrell ti. I suppose my expectations for local availability had been lowered after the solo search and it was easier to accept an online purchase.
Semi-relevant info: I am in Denver Colorado for the time being.
While waiting for the simrell to arrive, I have been considering my heating options and I’ve decided my first pick is the YLL 3.0. Unfortunately the only IH I can find for sale in Denver is the Ispire, and even those are currently sold out locally. BUT one of the shops I checked for the heater has the solo 3 currently in stock! If I had known this before ordering the simrell, I wouldn’t have been able to pull the trigger on it fast enough.
So the current dilemma is that I have a simrell already en route and I’m feeling extremely tempted to go grab that solo.
I’m just wondering if anyone who has experience with both devices can tell me whether the performance of the two differs enough to justify owning both of them, or if I should just enjoy my simrell until VAS inevitably gets the best of me hopefully far down the line.
