The doors to Hogwarts are opening again, and HBO has finally given viewers their first official look inside.

The first teaser for HBO’s new ‘Harry Potter’ series is out now, with the eight-episode debut season titled ‘Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone’ and scheduled to premiere at Christmas 2026.

That title makes the approach clear from the start.

The series begins where J.K. Rowling’s books began, with an 11-year-old Harry Potter learning that the ordinary life described by his Aunt Petunia has been hiding something much bigger. A letter from Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry introduces him to magic, friendship and a dangerous connection to his own past.

Dominic McLaughlin leads the new generation as Harry Potter, joined by Arabella Stanton as Hermione Granger and Alastair Stout as Ron Weasley.

Around them is a cast packed with familiar names.

John Lithgow plays Albus Dumbledore, Janet McTeer takes on Minerva McGonagall, Paapa Essiedu plays Severus Snape and Nick Frost steps into the role of Rubeus Hagrid. Warwick Davis returns to the wizarding world as Filius Flitwick, while Sirine Saba plays Pomona Sprout.

The Hogwarts student body is filling out quickly, too.

Rory Wilmot plays Neville Longbottom, Lox Pratt is Draco Malfoy, Leo Earley is Seamus Finnigan and Elijah Oshin is Dean Thomas. Tristan Harland and Gabriel Harland play Fred and George Weasley, while Ruari Spooner takes on Percy Weasley.

Alessia Leoni appears as Parvati Patil, Sienna Moosah as Lavender Brown, Finn Stephens as Vincent Crabbe and William Nash as Gregory Goyle.
