Hello there! My name is u/releasethedragon, I'm a new moderator around here. I offered to help out the current mod to expand the rule set and start getting those pesky bots and only fans sellers out of the sub and look to increase genuine traffic in the sub.

That being said, there are a few new requirements/things we've implemented to try to help clean it up!

1. Title requirement. Like many of the r4r / meetup subs, ours will now have a format you must follow in order to post. It looks like the one up above! There are different gender identity options you can choose from, and there's an example in the rules in the sidebar as well. Please note: if you do not match it exactly, it won't go through!! I know this is frustrating to begin with, but trust me when I say this step alone is responsible for catching 50-60% of the bots in my other meet up subs.

2. Posts are locked by default. We put the power into the hands of the fine users doing the posting. If they want to allow comments, they can! All you need to do is include this phrase: !Unlock (typed just like that with the exclamation point first) to allow comments on your post.

3. No prostitution, selling, profiles with telegram, Onlyfans links, or profiles marked as "app" will be permitted to post. This is not personal, we have no moral objection to sex work or content creators, there are many communities where they encourage those sorts of posts, ours simply is not one of them.

4. "DM me." These types of comments will now be automatically removed. They're not helpful and don't encourage conversation in the sub. :)

5. Minimum age of account/karma requirement. We will now require profiles to have a minimum age of account and a karma requirement. We will not disclose it publicly as this is another one of the really big ways we prevent bots, but rest assured it's very attainable for a common user to attain. It's not easy for bots that go on spam posting sprees and get banned shortly thereafter.

There is a very strong possibility activity will drop off here for a few weeks while we're weeding out all the bots and scammers. Please bear with us, and keep making quality posts in the meantime!

Something long in my subreddit to-do list has been to create a ban appeal system for users to appeal their ban. Believe it or not, I don't think our lovely mod team (including myself) are infallible, nor do we think people are incapable of growth, so we're introducing a ban appeal system.

Here are the bullet points:

• You must wait 14 days before appealing a ban. Appeals before this time period are up will be ignored and you will need to file another one when you are eligible. We will not keep track of this for you, we will simply ignore it until it is time.
• You will need to fill out the ban appeal form.
• A moderator other than the one that banned you will review your application. (Where possible, this is one of the primary reasons we wanted to expand the moderator team a few months back.)
• Each ban may be appealed once. If an appeal is denied, that moderation action is considered final and will not be reviewed again. If an appeal is granted and the user is reinstated, future moderation actions may be appealed separately in accordance with this policy.

To be considered, an appeal must include:

• The date your ban was issued (available in your Reddit messages)
• The rule you were banned under
• Your understanding of the situation
• Any information you believe may be relevant to the review

If applicable, you may also explain:

• How your content may have violated the rule
• What you would do differently going forward

I've asked this question before, but I'm wondering if this community would like to maintain its course in the direction it's heading? I.E. is this a community for all things NSFW in Riverside (minus onlyfans/content creators)?​

 

Do we want to narrow our field of vision? Do we want to expand?

 

To be honest, when I took over this community it stop allowing the u/willaizze pegging spam botter to continue to ruin so many subs. So I started taking them over. And I'm so pleased to say that they have not been able to post in here for AGES and I feel fulfilled.

 

Now what does the community want? What are your hopes for this community? How does it differ from u/inlandempirepersonals? Do you get use out of posting here? Should we do one thing really well or just do everything mediocre? Let me know!

 

Oh, additionally, once we can land on who and what we are, I'll be opening the moderator team to bring on more mods to help share the load. We saw it work to great success in the other communities I help run, reducing the amount of time your posts fall behind the mod line.
