I’m looking for a story I read a while ago

It was about a broadcast or virus that affected woman and made so they believed anything they were told

It focuses on a man that finds out his girlfriend has been infected and he tries to get to her by renting a car only to find out that the woman behind the desk doesn’t work there and is also under the effects and believes everything she is told
