Unstrapping

Love this shot of Erin as she's kneeling and unstrapping her top. Notice how her body is relax and not flexing. It really shows off the shape of her ass and thighs ☺️

Striptease Goofs Pt.1

I've watched this movie more times than I probably should admit, and after enough rewatches you start noticing little things that probably nobody else cares about.

Here are a few random goofs I've caught:

1. Erin Grant using her real name
One thing that always makes me laugh is Erin uses her actual name while most of the other dancers have stage names.

2. The apartment towel scene
During the scene where Erin is dancing around her apartment in the towel, the towel changes between shots. One second it's about to come off and next it's tucked in.

3. Orly and Shad disappearing during Erin's chair dance
During Erin's chair dance at the Eager Beaver, Orly and Shad seem to disappear and reappear by the bar depending on the shot.

4. Erin hiding in the abandoned car
When Erin is hiding out in the abandoned car, her Volvo somehow appears in the next scene. It kind of feels like the car just showed up out of nowhere.

5. Erin's hair changing in the same scene
There are a few moments where Erin's hair goes from messy to perfectly combed between shots, even though it's supposed to be the same scene.

This is just Part 1. I'm sure there are plenty more little goofs and continuity mistakes hidden throughout the movie. Anyone else notice any others?

Does anyone else instantly think of Striptease when they hear "Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This)"

Every time I hear "Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This)" out in stores, driving, restaurants, or bars/clubs, my brain immediately goes to Striptease and Demi Moore. 😂

Does anyone else automatically associate this song with Striptease? Or are there any other songs that triggers thoughts of Demi and the movie?

I Wish We'd Seen Erin Create Her Dances

One thing I really wish Striptease had touched on more was how Erin came up with her routines. We get to see the finished performances, but it would've been fun to see her brainstorming ideas, picking music, practicing in front of a mirror, or rehearsing until everything came together. We do get that apartment scene where she's dancing by herself, and I always liked that because it's the closest we get to seeing her rehearse.

I think those scenes could've added both a sexy and comedic side to the movie. Watching Erin try out new moves, scrap ideas that didn't work, or laugh at herself during rehearsals would've been entertaining while showing how much work went into her performances.

I know it wasn't the movie's main focus, but those little behind-the-scenes moments would've have given us another side of her character. Did anyone else wish we'd gotten to see more of that?

Everyday Erin

I've always wished Striptease gave us more "everyday Erin" scenes. Like seeing her when she wasn't dancing at the Eager Beaver or dealing with clients.

What storylines do you wish the movie had spent more time on?

Striptease was released 30 years ago this week. The $50 million black comedy starring Demi Moore and Burt Reynolds was ravaged heavily by critics and underperformed at the box office, grossing $33 million domestically and $113 million worldwide and won 6 Razzies.
