The Festival of Hearts has arrived in the village, and love is in the air. After you sneak away for some air your childhood friend finds you, picnic basket in hand, bearing sweets and ultimately -- his heart.

Like last week’s audio this is another in a pair of audios I made a few years ago revolving around a romantic festival in a rural village / fantasy setting. This version is more of a childhood friend romance plot and was a nice sweet change of pace from last week’s feisty brat-taming blacksmith. I hope you enjoy listening!

Performer Summary: You are a medieval soldier who joined the army to keep your home and the boy you love safe. To your dismay, when he enlists himself, you realize there is only one option to protect him: defect. Setting up an ambush to separate him from your comrades he stubbornly refuses to listen to reason. You have no choice but to use your final trump card: taking him with you as a prisoner of war.

Listener Summary: When war came to your peaceful village and the army conscripted your closest friend, you had no choice but to enlist and fight by her side. She's happy to see you but increasingly jaded with the war effort. A nasty ambush leaves you unconscious and you awaken to her tending to your wounds -- your injuries preventing your safe retreat. Here, she proposes a different plan to ensure your safety.

Nothing quite like some gentle betrayal in the morning 😊 I wrote this script a couple years ago after being in a very angsty writing phase. I really enjoyed fleshing out the backstory, building the emotional chemistry between the characters and exploring some delicious sadism. Hope you enjoy reading!
