these pictures were hard for me to take and post bc i’ve always struggled with accepting my hip dips and cellulite. my hip dips have made me feel so insecure that ill stand a certain way in photos and wear baggy pants so its less noticeable. there are times when i look at myself in the mirror and its the only thing i can see, it makes me forget everything else about myself. i only see places i wish i looked smoother and rounder, more filled out. i feel like id be confident in my body if i didn’t have hip dips and somehow got rid of my cellulite. i know these things are completely normal but it’s still hard to feel okay about it and confident. it’s sad how much space this takes up in my mind, it’s sad i’m zooming in on every picture i take, examining and comparing. honestly sometimes i hate taking pictures of myself bc im not happy with how my body looks and i just end up upset. i hope someday i can get to a place where i’m comfortable in my body and not disappointed in the way i look

i think i have struggled with loving my body since high school, for as long as i could remember, people have always felt comfortable saying “you’re so skinny” “you need to gain more weight” and “you need more meat on your bones” then once i started my first job after graduating college people would say i didn’t even look like a woman because of how small i am, always told me that i looked like a little girl. at one point i did gain a little bit of weight and that’s when people would tell me that now i look like a woman. it felt like my body was finally being accepted. i did end up losing that weight and people started saying “you lost weight, you look like a little girl again” it’s hard because it makes me feel like my body makes me less of a woman, being small takes away from my womanhood. i’m still trying to unlearn that my body needs to look a certain way for me to me loved, respected, and to feel like a woman.
