Built a custom Mac app for the setup — SplitView

Been running a proper goon cave setup for a while and got tired of juggling VLC windows. So I built a dedicated Mac app from scratch.

What it does:

• Local video library with thumbnail grid — scans your videos folder automatically
• 1, 2, or 4 slot split screen player
• Each slot has its own independent timeline, playback speed (0.5x to 1.5x), volume and mute
• True immersive fullscreen — no chrome, no distractions, just the content edge to edge (hovering shows individual controls)
• Two display modes per slot — True View (full video, no crop) or Immersed View (fills frame)
• 2-slot Player has both horizontal or vertical layout - whichever you prefer
• Play All / Pause All buttons for easy access
• Library screen for scanned videos, Player screen with Stage Bar showing added videos & Fullscreen
• Password protected with two-layer auth — nobody accidentally opens it
• Quick escape to the password screen via key shortcut
• Completely local — no internet, no tracking, no subscriptions
• macOS only, dark UI, clean design

Built for exactly this use case. Nothing else. Built precisely. Windows version and additional features like a custom metronome with pulse bar visualization in the works.
