A First Time Client Who Opened Up During a Massage Session
Had a session today with a 36 year old client who reached out to me on Reddit last Friday. It was her first time booking with me.
She mentioned that she works 6 days a week and spends almost 9 hours a day sitting, so she had been dealing with a lot of pain and stiffness in her back and shoulders. That was the main reason she wanted the session.
Before the massage started, she was very welcoming and even offered me a snack and coffee, which instantly made the whole environment feel more comfortable and respectful. We spoke a little before beginning, and during the session she opened up about a few things she had gone through after her divorce.
What really stayed with me was when she said I felt like a friend from her office, and that nobody had really asked her how she was doing in a long time. That meant a lot.
For me, sessions like this are not just about massage. They are also about creating a space where someone can relax, feel heard, and let go of stress for a while. By the end of it, she felt lighter, and I could tell the session gave her both physical relief and a little emotional comfort too.
