​I need to get this off my chest because the judgment I’m getting from one side is starting to feel toxic.

​I 20 have an incredible relationship with my mother. She is absolutely stunning, looks incredibly youthful (she honestly outshines girls half her age), and she’s more like my best friend and peer than a strict parent. She doesn’t pressure me about college, backlogs, or career stuff.

I am fiercely devoted to her, we hug all the time, and I honestly can’t imagine living my life without her input. She’s my anchor.

​Now, remember the two women I’ve been talking to? The dynamic just got ten times more complicated because of this.

​The 19 yr old girl Lately, she has been making everything weird. She told me straight out that my relationship with my mom is "Unhealthy" and "Not normal." She literally said watching us hug or hearing how much I talk about my mom makes her "uncomfortable." Now, whenever I mention my mom, she mocks me and calls me a "mommy's boy" who is too dependent. It feels like she’s jealous of the bond I have with the first woman in my life.

But ​The 25 yr old On the flip side, things with her are completely seamless. Why? Because her mom is literally my mom’s close friend. They run in the same social circles. Because of this, She completely understands our family dynamic. She doesn't find it "creepy" at all when I praise my mom, and she actually respects how much I care about her.

My junior is trying to convince me that I need "therapy" and boundaries, while the 25 yr old thinks it’s beautiful that I treat my mother like a queen.

​Is my Junior the 19 yr old just projecting her own family insecurities onto me, or is a guy loving his youthful, supportive mom actually a red flag now?
