As the appointment begins, you glance over at the tray of medical instruments and begin to get nervous. Your doctor gives a reassuring smile, taking a moment to explain each step of the exam and answer any questions.

“We’ll start with your vitals and your breast exam”, I say, “then move on to the more “fun” part of your exam”. You glance at the speculum on the tray and begin to get a bit more excited than you anticipated…
