[LFO] Complacency hurts

There's many steps to safety, and it's usually never just one thing you have to keep in mind. I was drilling into a piece of wood with a 1 inch paddle bit and just holding the wood by hand. Also sitting next to the wood was a hatchet. The paddle bit grabbed the wood due to a nail, spun, and smacked the hatchet towards me, and it flew down into my knee.

I should have:

  1. Secured the wood with a clamp

  2. Removed the hatchet from the area

  3. Put the hatchet into its sheath

  4. Checked the wood for any nails that would cause binding

  5. Thought my process through

Instead, I got complacent and just figured it's one hole, I'll drill it and be onto the next thing. I'm super disappointed in myself bc two days ago my finger was bit by a Sawzall bc I got complacent.

So… James seems to be perma banned, this sub has gone full NSFW which means mostly links and not videos which is just annoying.

Where to go now? Where do I go to keep feeding my paranoia about all the ways I could die every day?

[LFO] Worker screams in agony after getting caught in grinding machine

What did we learn from this video? Horrible positioning is what kills many of these workers in these rundown factories, don't stand two feet away from the pulverizing machine that yanks things in, don't stand on logs that fall into woodchippers, don't stand two inches from lathes that can rip your apart and so on.

So I know James is gone(I think, I’m too lazy to check and he’s banned like 50% of the time anyways(the worst 50% of this sub))anywayssss, could anybody please just post some vids so I can shit in peace when I check this sub in the morning! We could do like a collective type deal where the GMT+2 posts something for the GMT+8 crowd and so on..? I know I’m barely asking anything of you but if you could please post(non-train, plane, motorcycle, electrocution on top of train/near train electrocution, and workplace injury videos where the operator is getting taking apart like a recycled children’s LEGO set) at perfect intervals so I can see a new one pop up as soon as I’m done with the old one, that’d be great thankssss!
