The way I usually play these things out is a series of shorter vignette-like scenes, in what could almost be seen as a sort of “anthology” set-up. It lets us remain flexible with good pacing, while also being able to follow a story through a couple of scenes if necessary. Whether this takes place in a contemporary/modern, sci-fi or fantasy setting I don’t mind. But understand that this is written with something contemporary in mind, if you would like fantasy or sci-fi then feel free to let me know! - but also it requires you to take some initiative and explain the why’s and how’s of what you imagine.
