Help with equipment idea

I want the ability to switch power on or off to a mains powered wand using a pressure pad or plate with the pad pressed being on and the pad released turning the power off.
I've thought about using a guitar pedal, this is rated for mains voltage, the idea being to make it simple switch, pressed down to make the circuit, released to break it, a project box and a mains socket and a 30 amp connection junction
