Is it just us, or is it becoming really hard to find genuine people on Reddit these days?

Over the past few years, my partner and I have connected with quite a few people through Reddit. Some of those connections turned into genuinely wonderful friendships, and we're grateful for that. But at the same time, we've also experienced the other side of it more often than we'd like.

We've come across fake profiles, people pretending to be someone they're not, and many conversations that start with enthusiasm but fade away for no apparent reason. Sometimes we'd spend days talking, exchange photos, have a voice or video call to verify each other, and then... silence. Other times it's just endless "hi, hello" conversations that never grow into anything meaningful. It often feels like people want the excitement of meeting someone new, but not the effort that goes into building a real connection.

We've also met people who say they're part of the lifestyle, but after talking to them, it becomes clear that they're only looking for something quick or purely sexual. That's completely different from what we're looking for. For us, trust, comfort, communication, friendship, and mutual respect come first. Without those, everything else feels meaningless.

After experiencing this over and over again, we started wondering if there are others who feel the same way.

So we're thinking about creating a strictly verified private community for people who genuinely value authentic connections. Not just another group where people disappear after a day or collect contacts, but a space where members actually communicate, participate, and eventually feel comfortable meeting in real life.

For now, we're planning to keep it limited to Mallus, people currently staying in Kerala, or those who can reasonably travel to Kerala for occasional IRLs, simply because it'll be much easier to build trust and organize meetups. If it grows into something meaningful, we can always expand it later.

The idea isn't to create another dating or hookup group. It's to build a community of genuine, open-minded people who enjoy meaningful conversations, friendships, discussions, shared experiences, networking, support, and exploring beyond the ordinary.

This community probably isn't for you if you're using fake profiles, looking only for hookups, ghosting people after introductions, putting zero effort into conversations, promoting paid services, or unwilling to verify yourself. There are already plenty of spaces for that.

But if you're someone who values honesty, consistency, mutual respect, and believes good connections take time to build, we'd genuinely love to hear your thoughts.

I'm still deciding whether this should be a private Telegram group or a private Reddit community.

If this resonates with you, leave a comment with your suggestions or send me a DM. Maybe there are more of us looking for the same kind of community than we realize.
