Was I being hit on?
I've attracted attention from gay men occasionally before, but those were more obvious then this encounter.
In this case I was in a very small midwestern town and asked a guy walking down the sidewalk where I could find a restaurant.
He was exceptionally friendly and very welcoming to their lovely small town. He shook my hand twice like we were old affectionate friends. He was a bit inquisitive; Where did I come from? what brings me here? Then he asked if I had children. And asked about my wife.
after a bit more conversation he hugged me and we departed.
It was a nice overly friendly experience. Too friendly for some from a total stranger; and a bit oddly too friendly for me to not notice. But I got to thinking. Was he inquiring first about children and then wife to see if I was available to him?
