Handy 2 Simple Cheap and Sturdy Under-Desk Mount
Just got the Handy 2 with desk mount a week ago as my first electronic toy. Although I am very satisfied with the Handy 2 itself, I was rather frustrated with the desk mount. Never got it mounted in a position and stay there after a couple strokes. After the frustration honestly took me out of the mood a couple of times during my attempts I decided it was a lost cause with those flexible joints on the mount.
I ended up just tossing the desk mount and searching Amazon. Didn't have to look too hard and found a pretty highly rated mount with screws directly attached to the mounting surface. It's around $20 right now depending on which size clamp you'll need and it comes with one lockable ball joint. [Amazon link to the mount --> https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CTCP55Z6 ] Just using the mount attaches to the top of the Handy 2 kept it pretty steady without swiveling. It does rock a little bit back and forth while doing the motion, but nothing excessive. This is enough to get you by if you don't want to spend any more, though I have on my setup (photos attached)
Since the Handy 2 has two screw attachment points, I figured it'd be better for wear-and-tear to get another ball-joint and attach the mount to both, to keep it steadier and distrubute any stress on the machine. Another ball-joint goes for $12 right now from the same seller. Attached photos show the mount and joints, as well as the order i screw them in so they all can fit nicely. Keep in mind the ball-joints can have the screw-hole rotate freely for the final step as long as the joint is unlocked.
