The Academia Sphere is a place of research and learning. The Kingdom's potential roams its halls, learning the foundations of magic in order to become productive and useful magi that run the many comforts and systems in the kingdom. It is rumored that the Academia Sphere is built upon the dead body of a god, making it a holy place and the birthplace of magic within the Kingdom.
Magi power the lights, they power the vehicles on the streets, they power the machines that make the city function. They are the powerful batteries that make the Kingdom superior to its neighbors. Even though other lands have magic users, none are as powerful or versatile as the magi.
The Academia Sphere is currently led by the Magi Father Aurelios Hart. His leadership has spanned countless years, his life prolonged by his powerful and flexible magic.
When an expedition from the Sphere find an ancient digsite, they uncover a timeless relic that seems to foretell the destruction of the Kingdom.
One day, the North will meet South
When East meets West
The natural order will return.
In the hands of the daughter,
Beneath the eyes of the father,
In the embrace of the mother,
Destruction finds us all,
And life begins anew.
The magi who first finds and holds this relic is none other than Dr. Claire Hart, the adoptive daughter of the Magi Father. Despite wielding her own poerful yet different magic, she has always struggled to prove herself in the eyes of her peers. Instead of acclaim and praise for finding such a strange and important relic, her peers, fellow professors at the Sphere, consider her cursed. Her magic had always been different, and rumors spread that the artifact was tied to her and she would be the cause of the downfall of the Kingdom.
Spooked by the prophecy on the relic and the rumors of societal collapse at the hand of a single magi, the Kingdom sends a top agent from the Network. The Network is a well known yet mysterious organization that handles intelligence and discipline for the Kingdom. Everyone knows it exists, no one knows who is in it, how it is run, or how far is their reach.
Your character is this agent. How he infiltrates the Sphere is up to you. Does he pose as a late-blooming magi, come to learn and hone his talents? Does he work with the Magi Father to pose as a new instructor for the non-magical arts? Does he kidnap or kill a staff member in order to take their place? It's up to you. Your character is a master spy with all the tricks of the trade.
This story has a full cast of characters that we will decide and play. Other instructors, students, the King and members of the Network, and so on.
I have plans for what the artifact foretells, how it would play out, and options for a conclusion. We can discuss these, or play it out and see what happens! I also have lore for the magic systems in place and the 'dead god' the Sphere is built on, and more.
Your character is yours to design, however I would prefer some contrast against my character, Claire Hart. Claire is intelligent to a fault, over thinking, whimsical and 'odd', and has low self esteem from living in her adoptive father's shadow. She's clever and tricky, and secretly hungry for approval and affection. Her appearance is up for discussion, the only non-negotiable is that she's quite short. 152cm/5ft. I write smart and sometimes surprising women; be ready to handle curveballs, or communicate with me if you'd like guidance/a heads up/a redo on a scene.
Please respond with an outline of the character you'd like to play (general appearance, demeanor, role/rank in the Network, skills) and any info about yourself you would like to provide. I do hope this story eventually includes romance and possibly smut, but that would come a little later, after our characters get to know each other.
I'm 30+ F, PST timezone (GMT-8). I am happily married. I work from home so I am often around during all hours, and I write to match my partner or the scene. There is never any pressure for you to write long or short, but I do expect decent grammar, 3rd person POV, and some level of detail and literary flair. I write primarily on Discord but I can be flexible. I'm quite laid back and happy to adjust things, retcon if needed, or whatever we need to make the story fun and fulfilling for both of us. I DO respond to everyone who messages me, even if it's to tell you no thanks. So please expect a response, might not be immediate but I try my best to never ghost people.
