The wanted pirate and the runaway princess
“I’ll give you one hundred gold,” the princess offered firmly as she stood aboard the deck of the most dangerous pirate ship on the sea. “One hundred gold… and all I require in return is safe passage out of this kingdom.” Her eyes landed on the captain of the ship a woman the princess had heard countless stories about.
Stories that made grown men shiver at the mere mention of her name. “Do you know what you’re asking me, little flower?” the pirate asked as she slowly approached the princess. “You are a princess… an heir to the throne. Your king will stop at nothing to get you back.”
“My father can burn in hell for all I care,” the princess snapped back. To her surprise, the pirate smiled. “Fine…” the captain smirked. “I’ll grant you safe passage. But as you know, Princess, much like you, I am a wanted woman. So, I hope you don’t cause me any trouble.”
The pirate’s voice lowered into a whisper as she closed the distance between them. “I would hate to have to throw such a pretty thing overboard.”
For a brief moment, she simply stared at the princess before turning away and beginning to walk off. “You’ll bunk with me until we arrive, so unpack your things and,”
“I’m sorry… bunk with you?” the princess interrupted, confused. The pirate stopped and glanced back at her. “Well, if you’d rather sleep in the brig with my crew, then,”
“No!” the princess answered quickly. “Bunking with you shall be alright.” The pirate nodded once.
“Good. Then put your things away and find somewhere to be useful. If you’re going to tag along, you might as well pull your weight.”
And just like that, she was gone.

With this prompt, I’d love to explore a potential lesbian awakening story.
The idea is that the princess is fleeing her home kingdom to escape an arranged marriage to a prince. While most princesses would jump at the chance to marry royalty, this princess has always been different. She’s never looked at men with admiration or longing mostly annoyance. She doesn’t hate them; she simply doesn’t find them attractive.
But during her journey with the pirate, she begins experiencing feelings she’s only ever heard about in stories: her face turning bright red, her heart racing whenever the pirate gets too close, and constantly thinking about her even when she’s gone.
Of course, the princess initially believes something must be wrong with her, which I think could make for a really sweet story as the two of them slowly figure out what these feelings mean and what they mean to each other.
