How to help insecure domme in not feeling awkward?

I believe this question has been asked before, but I couldn't find a good connection to my situation.
I've recently opened up to my girlfriend about my interest in trying femdom. We're both switches, but I tend to take the lead more often. She was really excited about it, but she often worries about feeling awkward and tries to force herself into the role of a domina like those portrayed in porn. I keep reminding her that I want her, not just the image of a mistress or anything like that. However, I find it difficult to help her overcome this awkwardness. She also struggles with making decisions, fearing that I might not enjoy it.
How have others dealt with this feeling? Do other female doms experience this as well?
What can I do to support her even more?
