Photo Guidelines Poll

Happy Saturday all you filthy bathhouse fiends!

The mod team has seen an influx of photo submissions in the last few weeks. The mod team has been busy trying to keep up with removing ones that break the photo guidelines we agreed on previously. Currently, photos of members are allowed as long as they (1) are confined to a bathhouse setting, and (2) protect others’ privacy by not showing other bathhouse visitors.

The rules currently in place are meant to keep this sub from devolving into just another porn/thirst group. Even when photos are within the guidelines, we still get multiple reports flagging them. We’ve decided to bring it to another vote since some members seem to have problems with our current situation.

I’ve always gone to Flex Atlanta as my local bathhouse, but I thought I would take one for the team and drop the $40 to review Eros in Charlotte.

There’s never been much info online regarding this establishment, and after today’s visit I see why. The spa is humorously wedged into a tiny strip mall between two Spanish-speaking churches. As stated before, non members must fork over $40 and leave their ID behind at the front desk until they turn in their locker key. Visitors are given a large towel and a small hand one. Signs indicate that no footwear of any kind are allowed, even sandals or flip flops.

Heading through the door, there’s a hallway with several massage rooms on either side (no idea where the masseuse is or how you book them). Passing through a curtain, you’ll enter the main part of the spa. On either side are doors leading to salt and clay rooms. I looked in both but they seem to be unused, as they were room temperature and the pits covered in towels and sheets. On the right is a dry sauna which was barely warm. A locker room is on the left, with probably 50 lockers. I doubt more than a dozen have ever been in use.

A double set of restrooms are in the next area, with one labeled for women (which makes zero sense in a male only spa). The lock on the men’s restroom was broken. There’s an abandoned vending machine pushed behind some junk, while the only drinking fountain in the area was broken. On the left is a relaxation room. It looks like it could function as a darkroom, but the huge tv blasting local news makes it inhospitable. Half of it is cordoned off and piled high with random junk.

Towards the back of the space on the right is a “cold room” that’s fully room temperature and features some ratty seating. The showers are beyond, with several leaky heads and a half dozen random body wash containers for visitors to use. A dark room on the right (maybe where the hot tub was) is blocked off, with signs warning that the area is being monitored by camera. The last area is the wet sauna, which was surprisingly hot and the nicest part of the entire experience.

As for action? Here’s the kicker, multiple signs make it very clear that any form of sexual conduct is strictly prohibited in all areas and will result in eviction from the premises. I asked one of the three guys walking around and he confirmed they do routinely kick people out. I’m not sure how enforced this rule is, because I heard someone moaning loudly in one of the massage rooms within earshot of the front desk and the employee never acknowledged it.

Since Eros Men’s Spa explicitly prohibits sexual activity of any kind on the premises and in no way purports to be a gay-friendly establishment, the mod team will be removing this location from the bathhouse list resource.

I’d avoid this place at all costs.

Charlotte is also home to Sauna for Men, but I couldn’t bring myself to suffer through another experience like this one.
