Hi all - I'm a 23 year old med student at a major university in the mid-atlantic/northeast US currently in the middle of clinical rotations. In between work and studying, it's quite challenging to meet people organically during this phase, so I thought it might be a good idea to post here.
Here's a bit more about me:
- I'm 5'10", east Asian, and I am a big fan of fitness (gotta keep the past medical history portion of my chart blank for as long as possible). I have been pretty consistent with training and diet for almost 2 years. Obviously I am a massive nerd, but also secretly kind of jacked. I have progress photos, you can be the judge lol
- Contrary to what my friends say, I do not subsist on unseasoned chicken breast and broccoli. I consider myself quite good at cooking, particularly with asian stir fry recipes, and I have the photos to prove it!
- I am a big fan of high fantasy and science fiction, particularly Lord of the Rings. I have never not gotten along with another LOTR fan so we should definitely talk if you are:)
- I see a lot of really interesting cases in the hospital and also work on solving cool problems in a research lab.
As you can guess, I genuinely love talking about science. I would love to tell you about the physiology of rare conditions or new results in my own research, and I really enjoy breaking down complex ideas in intuitive ways. You absolutely do not need to be in STEM. I'm hoping you are someone who is curious and driven in your own way and that I can learn from the things you are interested in too.
I'm happy to share photos at any point, whether that's at the beginning or after building a complete first impression of each other. If you're relatively close to my age, value staying healthy/active, and enjoy conversations about science, please feel free to reach out as long as this post is up!
