If your husband told you he wanted to take a second wife, would you stay or leave?

I'm mainly asking women who entered marriage expecting it to be monogamous not those who are already open to a polygamous marriage.

This is purely a hypothetical question. I'm not assuming anyone's husband actually wants this in fact many of your husbands may be completely happy being in a monogamous marriage and may never want another wife.

I've come across some men arguing that feminism is one of the reasons monogamy became the dominant expectation and that in their view a truly submissive wife shouldn't object if her husband wanted to take another wife. I've also seen some men argue that having multiple wives is a sign of greater masculinity. That made me wonder how traditional wives themselves feel about this.

If hypothetically, your husband told you he wanted to marry a second wife:

- Would you stay or leave?

- If you stayed do you think your relationship with him would ever feel the same?

- Would you feel that accepting it is part of being a submissive wife or do you think submission has limits?

- What factors would influence your decision?

I've noticed many older traditional people believe children owe their parents. What are your thoughts on this?

I've noticed that many older traditional people seem to believe that because parents give birth to and raise their children, those children have certain obligations toward their parents later in life.

This can include things such as getting married, having children, helping support parents in old age, or caring for them when they need assistance.

For those who value more traditional family roles, how do you view this? Do you believe children owe their parents something beyond love, respect, and gratitude? If so, where do you think the line should be drawn?
