Seattle strip clubs refuse to hire me

I moved to Seattle and decided to give dancing a try. I auditioned at multiple clubs, but kept getting turned away, which honestly confused me. I’m outgoing, confident, comfortable with showing my body, and I feel like I look great when I’m all done up. I started wondering if it was my dancing skills or maybe I just didn’t fit the aesthetic out here.

So I took a few classes, went to Portland, and got hired immediately. I got more practice in, learned routines at home, and even waited a few months before trying again in Seattle. Eventually, I got hired at one of the top clubs out here, so at that point I figured I couldn’t be that bad. I was only there about a week and was making decent money! Stayed to myself and focused on just improving and making money. Management started acting weird toward me. Other dancers said it was “clearing out season” and they tend to get rid of girls before the end of the year, so I assumed being new made me an easy target. (Yes I tipped out well)

I came in for my shift one day and they claimed they didn’t have my license or proof I was allowed to work there, even though I have a photo of the contract I signed with them? And they took a copy of my license in front on me? They told me to come back and re-audition in a couple months. Crazy right?

Since there aren’t many clubs here and most had already rejected me, I went back to Portland a two months later😭 and got hired again mid-audition!! Mind you because they loved my stage performance. I always do well out there! It’s like they love me as well as customers again I made decent money! but I don’t live there, so now I’m back in Seattle.

I finally built up the courage to audition at another club here, and they turned me away AGAIN. At this point, I give up only because I have no options left 😂 but I almost just want to prove to myself that I can do this 😂 and that MAYBE there’s a club for me out here. Are clubs in Seattle really THAT hard to get into, or am I being delusional that this city just hates me for some odd reason? Has anyone else had similar experiences here or elsewhere? Is it really that hard to become a dancer in the state of Washington?
