Hi all,
I've always been curious about how different people respond to different opioids.
For me, it was specifically the old yellow V 3601 hydrocodone. One 10 mg tablet would put me in an incredibly good place for 4 to 6 hours.
Not "high" exactly. Just content.
No anxiety.
No overthinking.
No irritability.
No obsessing over problems.
I felt confident, comfortable in my own skin, and genuinely happy regardless of what was going on in my life.
The interesting thing is that I've tried multiple newer hydrocodone generics since then, and none of them seem to produce the same experience for me.
So I'm curious:
What opioid put you in the best overall mood and why?

Was there a specific formulation or manufacturer that stood out to you?

For those with a lot of experience, do you think what I'm describing is likely the medication itself, the formulation, or something else entirely?

Have had the yellow V 3601 norcos for decades. Gave me warmth, relief, energy, euphoria - no side effects. Saved them because they were bought by strides then the husbtville plant that made them is gone now.

Strides is making 3601’s but different formulation. Not terrible, just not the same for me. No generic whites really do it for me / amneal, mallinkroft, elite, camber, eywa, etc.

Something about the way the yellows were made were just different. Relief, no side effects, very strong / ultimate content relaxed sharp thinking. They were the best.

I tried mallinkroft and alvogen oxy - made me out of it and angry

Kratom - doesn’t quite get me there and it’s variable

Some Vicodin generics - maybe half the way there but very flat feeling

I’m curious about ODSMT, tapendatol, idk. Any other ideas? Am I just out of luck here? There must be a way to get something that hits everything I need at once.

They were my happy pill. Could take them and everything would be perfect and content.
